About this ebook

This is the second story of Helen James adventures across the universe for Helen is a ‘Good’.
It had been six months since her first contact with the ‘Visitants’ and she was beginning to doubt if her trip to the Yunkery Star System had really happened.
It was days like today that Helen wished she was back with the ‘Visitants’. It had been a hard day at school, it was exam time and tonight she would have to revise for the exams tomorrow.
Helen and her best friend Joan caught the bus home but Helen got off two stops before Joan. As they neared Helen’s stop, she headed towards the stairs. At the top step Helen waved goodbye to Joan. Helen started down the stairs ready to get off the bus.
All of a sudden Helen was surrounded by a blue haze. Hyming had returned for her. How he got her out of the bus while it was still moving and the door were closed, she had no idea but before she realised what was happening she was streaking across the Milky Way.
Within seconds they were on the far side of the Universe at the Cytadul Galaxy and headed towards the Ritepryde Star System. The three inhabited planets were in dispute about the meaning of ‘Peace’.
How can there be more than one ‘Peace’? Helen was to find out that, like many words, Peace has many meanings and it depends on your interpretation what it actually means to you.
While Helen was worrying about getting back to her school bus before it reached her stop, it suddenly came to her that unless she solved this problem there would be no bus, no home and no Earth for her to return to.
She had to solve this dispute before the Universe was destroyed as one of the planets held the universe in place. If it was destroyed every galaxy and star system would be dragged into the void that this planet would leave.

    Preface

This is the second story about 8 year old Helen James who lives with her widowed mother and elder sister in a town on the South coast.

Her first adventure ‘The Yunkery Problem’ happened after she was sent to ‘The Naughty Step’ for not eating the cauliflower on her dinner plate.  While she sat on the step a blue haze came through the letter box wrapped itself around Helen and took her out of the house and up into the sky.

Before Helen realised what was happening she had passed by the moon and was streaking across the Milky Way.  In seconds she was far away from her own galaxy and passing many of the galaxies in the universe, until she reached the Cytadul Galaxy.  She was being transported by ‘Hyming’ a ‘Visitant’.

The ‘Visitants’ patrolled the universe.  When they find a Galaxy, Star System or planet that was heading for destruction, they would bring in a ‘Good’ to solve the problem and put things right.

    Helen James is a ‘Good’.

    Chapter 1 - I can’t come today

The one lesson Helen James hated was PE.  It wasn’t that she was unfit or anything, it was more because she wasn’t competitive.

To Helen it was about taking part that mattered, being part of a team and working together.  If they won great but if the other team were better than hers she accepted that.  Next time they would have to work just that bit harder.

This had been the last lesson of the day so instead of changing back into her school uniform she put on a pair of green trousers and the school fleece.

She looked like she was still in uniform to the teachers but as she was just collecting her school bags from her class room; little notice would be taken of her dress.

She neatly folded her uniform, placed into her book bag and left the school.  She could have a shower when she got to her Nan’s house and then change back into her uniform before she went home.

Helen James’s mum was working late at the minimarket today so she was being picked up from school by her granddad and taken back to his house.

After she had showered she would have tea with her grandparents and be taken back to her mum’s council house later.

She didn’t mind this as it gave her a chance to spend some time with her Nan.  They could catch up on what each other had been doing since they last saw each other.

Her Nan was a caring person and had always been there whenever Helen needed a shoulder to cry on or someone who would listen to her.

Instead of letting her sit down or have her shower, Helen was asked to go around to the house next door and give ‘Auntie’ Susan a message that her Nan wouldn’t be able to come around this evening because Helen wasn’t going home until eight o’clock.

But Nan I need a shower first.  Can’t you give her a call?  Helen asked.

I’ll get the shower going while you’re delivering my message.  Now off you go.

    OK Helen said.

The houses may be next door but there was a hedge between them so Helen had to go down the path, out onto the pavement and back in, through the gate that led up to ‘Auntie’ Susan’s front door.

As well as a hedge separating the two paths, there was also a hedge between the two gates of about ten metres long and two metres high.  As a result Helen was out of view from both houses.

As ‘Auntie’ Susan’s house was only a few metres away from her Nan’s, Helen didn’t bother to close her Nan’s front door as she left.  She would be back in a moment anyway.

As Helen left her Nan’s garden and walked along past the high hedge, she noticed a blue haze coming through the hedge a few metres ahead of her.  She remembered the blue haze that came through the letter box at home three weeks ago.  Surely Hyming
