    Other than some grammatical mistakes, not bad. This does a pretty great job at summarizing a 5000 page book into something you can finish in minutes.

Victor Hugo, a poet, novelist, playwright and politician, was an emblematic writer of French Romanticism. Considered to be the leader of the romantics, he also led an active political life, intervening in worthy causes such as the abolition of the death penalty. During the Second Empire, he was forced into exile (1851-1870) in Jersey, then in Guernsey where he notably wrote Les Misérables.

When he died in 1885, the Republic organised a huge national funeral, and he was celebrated by the public at the greatest French writer.
