WHAT A GLORIOUS TIME TO BE ALIVE!
I've seen the revolution and it was televised
And even more to my surprise
A stream of water running from my eyes
I'm not ashamed to tell this story
'Cause right then I knew, they had seen the glory
Cleansing my eyes giving me clearer vision
All the while wondering how America came to this decision
Surely in the past, it was a job for John Wayne
Can he jump tall buildings, is he a bird or a plane
Never thought I'd live to see it, I'm happy to say Yes I Can!
See an extraordinary resurrection of an ordinary man
Better than walking on water, better than Count Basie's band
The high from my father's dreams gave me the audacity of hope
No more excuses, racism or abuses, polluting our body with dope
