When you think of unforgettable characters, who comes to mind? Some common answers include Tom Sawyer, Ebenezer Scrooge, Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur, Hamlet, and even Winnie-the-Pooh. When creating multi-dimensional characters in your own writing, use characters you’ve been unable to forget for inspiration.
Memorable characters are well-rounded. They are not flat or one-dimensional. Here are some ways to give them depth:
- Give them flaws. Perfect people are boring and forgettable. Give your characters weaknesses, which in turn will make them more relatable.
- Give them physical tags. Not only will this keep them distinct from others in the story, it helps readers form
