Robin manages the social media platforms, writes blog articles and updates the website. She is an author and editor with more than 20 years publishing experience in Australia and overseas. She has had around 50 articles published in publications based in Hong Kong, Perth and Melbourne, and was awarded her Master of Creative Writing from the University of Canberra.

Introduction
Much has been written about Paris. The literary virtuosos who left their words for posterity will always be alive in our minds. From Jean-Paul Sartre’s existentialism and Gustave Flaubert’s tragic heroine, to the explorative adventures of Jules Verne, the swashbuckling characters of Alexandre Dumas, the philosophy of Albert Camus and the humanitarian Victor Hugo. Their stories have immersed themselves into our hearts and under our skins, have become one with us, like memory.
Just as these stories have grown with us through childhood and beyond, so the magic of visual artists from Paris has also lived on. In art, we cannot forget the water lilies of Monet, Renoir’s sophisticated luncheons, Picasso’s cubist creations, Degas’ ballerinas and Pissarro’s pointillist landscapes.
Every year, half a million visitors to Monet’s garden in Giverny queue along the tracks next to the lake that bears the famous green Japanese bridge covered in wisteria purple. The iconic gardens display winding paths of nasturtiums then irises, and pergolas dripping with colour. Curious eyes drink in every hue; every fabric and piece of furniture that is exhibited in the home stands as a memorial to his life and work.
Claude Monet would paint one subject again and again, at different times of day, or season and in different lights. For the father of impressionism, it is all about the light, the nuance and ambience of his creation, and not necessarily the subject itself. On first view, some of his pieces may
