About this ebook
Professional writers have more options than ever to build a career in web content, communications, social media and more. Chelsea D. Snyder has been working as a professional writer (or is that author?), online marketing consultant and social media strategist for over 20 years. Her insights into the world of professional writing on the internet are the perfect guide for any professional writer in the digital age, as well as other creatives who are considering their own business or entrepreneurial adventures.
Chelsea D. Snyder
Chelsea began working with computers at an early age, diving into computer-aided layout and design before graduating high school. From there, she worked as a computer technician, web and graphic designer and with search engine marketing. At the same time, Chelsea began studies in writing and communication, that led her to extensive experience in writing for the web and in communication strategy for marketing and public relations campaigns. She also loves to throw down a quirky haiku from time to time. Today, Chelsea provides solutions to businesses and organizations including SEO, web strategy consultation and online marketing, as well as social media management. Her skills and experience are demonstrated in her successful track record of building online marketing strategies and the implementation of social media, web content, editorial services and copywriting, as well as the management of web-based applications and online communities. As an editor or consultant, Chelsea has a vast range of experience to draw from that enables other writers and creatives to achieve their best, most authentic work.

Introduction
I made a statement the other day to a friend that I hate marketers. Yet, I am actually going to start this whole journey out by sounding like a marketer. I am not trying to convince you to buy this book or to start a writing business. I enjoy competition as much as the next person, but I also enjoy eating and wearing clothes.
By telling you all that I know about the business end of writing, I am basically giving you permission to beat me at my own game. Maybe I am challenging you to do just that. Maybe, I just like reading my own words. Regardless, there is a really good possibility that you could make a six-figure salary, or higher, by starting up a writing business. You can actually accomplish that goal in your pajamas, in your basement, and with never actually having a real job
again.
I am so serious, it hurts. ACT NOW and I will sell you my 7 Secrets to Success, most of which ask you to buy more things from me so that you can make a lot of money… wait, back up.
Years ago, I answered one of those envelope stuffing
ads that promised a steady income working from home. I was already working from home, but there were obstacles to my six-figure income then like nobody really believed a person could work from home
and not spend the day watching talk shows. That envelope stuffing thing, that was totally up my alley, because I could work from home as a freelance web and graphic designer, and when those projects dried up, I could sit in front of the TV, watching talk shows and stuffing envelopes.
Unfortunately, the only thing I learned was how to stuff envelopes to send to others, asking them to send me $5 to show them the secret to envelope-stuffing millionairehood. So scammy. Such angst. Sad face.
There is a point to this, and an uncanny similarity to writing a book about starting, growing and running a writing business. In some ways, this book is a tool for you to take what resonates and go forth into the business world of writing, whether as a freelancer, a business owner, or whatever title you create for yourself in this experience.
In that light, I am selling you a piece of paper that tells you to sell that piece of paper to others. I am giving you the secret to envelope-stuffing millionairehood, and truly, had I worked hard enough at the envelope gig (or, had I worked it at all and stuffed those
