Be aware that traveling in a foreign country has inherent risks, and seemingly anything can change overnight. Places may close, admission fees may rise, drivers will drive crazy, and public transportation routes can be altered. Stay aware of your surroundings, employ street smarts and common sense, and in general be suspicious of locals that approach you speaking English.

Introduction
You've come a long way, baby.
Complete with a brand new airport opened in March 2017, Zagreb was featured as 'Best in Europe 2017' by none other than the Lonely Planet, and for good cause. From a beautiful central area the locals enjoy in droves to a diverse food scene, there's plenty to like. Add in the fact that it's on the cheaper side for Europe and its appeal becomes more obvious.
While present-day Croatia was once part of the Roman empire, the first kingdom of Croatia dates back to 925 AD, when a former duke became King Tomislav.
