Sack’s cries of terror and sobs of fear sent shock waves through me. Sack pleaded with me to save him. But I my strength was waning and my arms ached from his one hundred fifty pounds pulling at me.

I’m slipping! Panic gripped me.

His weight began to drag me across the wet leaves on my belly toward our mutual assured destruction.
