About this ebook

When Amos, a rebellious young man in the 1930s, attempts to stop time travelers from kidnapping a girl, he learns the future is overrun by aliens and his future grandson will cause the invasion by contacting them. When the time travelers realize who Amos is, they hunt him down with murderous intent in order to save the future.

But when their plan fails, the time travelers must offer Amos an uneasy exchange knowledge and wealth for his help in creating a secret refuge outside of time for the survivors of the alien attack. Their goal: to change the future before it happens.

Having read the book in a week, I found it an easy read, with a plot that jumps forward and backward in time (as expected, given the title), and giving the story to various characters from one chapter to the next. They are at the same time trying to hide from some alien race which is invading Earth and destroying its population, and using the time train to find a way to combat it or to prevent it from ever coming in the first place. There are a few typos remaining, a few words I did not understand and a part of the plot that I found difficult to believe would have been possible, but globally it was enjoyable enough that I wanted to continue reading it.

I normally like time travel books as you can tell from my library. The author had an intriguing take on a train in the 1940's that runs down tracks taking characters into different time periods. I was, however, highly put off by the repeated derogatory references to God and His character that by the first five chapters struck me as the author's main agenda in writing the book; it had nothing to do with the plot line. Blatant blasphemy against God is offensive and prompted me to delete the digital edition text (an Early Reviewer"prize" thank you...) from my phone and tablet. The book is twaddle and not worth reading. So there -- I can't spoil the ending for you.

Strap in for one wild ride as the events of the future affect the past and what differentiates the good guys from the bad guys becomes increasingly harder to define. What would you do if no matter how hard you tried you couldn't stop the end of the world from coming, would you go mad or turn totally evil trying to stop the inevitable.

The first part of this book is amazing and then it kind of goes on and on. I always like time travel books. but problem is always if people kidnapping the girl knew it didn't work in future (cuz it didn't work in past) so wouldn't they then know to do something different. anyway I don't regret reading it, and I may recommend it to a couple people, but at same time I don't love it and I won't go out of my way to recommend it
