About this ebook
In this book, you will find two stories, one of comedy and one of tragedy. In The Bathroom Door, follow a man as he discovers a door in his bathroom, and he goes through it to discover a world of wonder (which is not his bedroom, incidentally). In A Generic Zombie Story, follow some teenagers as they try to survive a zombie apocalypse, in a totally original, not done to death theme.

PREFACE
So, a short background to these stories. I wrote the first while in the 12th grade, and the second while in the 10th. I consider the first story to be my better work, hence the order. The second story was written due to avoiding studying for exams, and the first to avoid working on the second.
They are my first stories to get published, and to be honest, I’m both a bit excited and a bit anxious. Since these are my first titles, they are a bit of a learning experience as well. So, if these do not sate you, I hope my next work will.
Both stories are quite different in tone, and any literature student should be able to tell a bit about me from them. Anyways, enough of this, enjoy the stories!

THE BATHROOM DOOR
PROLOGUE:
APPEARANCES AND DISAPPEARANCES
The beeping of the alarm clock woke him. He groggily sat up in bed, fumbled for his phone, and, eyes half shut, dismissed the alarm.
His eyes briefly fluttered open, then, as though they were bound by a rubber band, snapped shut. His eyes still closed, he got out of bed, and felt his way around his cluttered bedroom for the bathroom door.
Once inside the bathroom, he felt around for the light switch. Lights on, he moved to the wash basin and splashed some water onto his face. The cold water woke him instantly, and he was hit by a sudden wave of dizziness. Stumbling, he held onto the wash basin and steadied himself.
Then, his shower curtain seemingly pulled itself back, and a woman, wearing in heavy winter clothes, stepped out of the shower area.
She looked around the bathroom, and noticed the man.
Oh my. It seems I’ve stepped into your world at an awkward time. I do apologise.
Saying so, she stepped past the man, opened the bathroom door, and stepped into the snowy wasteland which had taken the place of the man’s bedroom.
All the while, the man stared at her, unsure if she was merely a hallucination or if she was real. As she swung the door shut behind her, he put his foot in the crack, and stopped the door from closing. He slowly opened the door again, and was hit by a sudden gust of cold wind.
Now, the man knew that he had a choice. Either he could close the door, and open it again to find his bedroom, or he could follow the woman. He did not know how those choices came to his mind, yet there they sat, waiting for him to choose.
He shivered in his thin pyjamas, the cold wind blowing right through them, and then, overcome by a sudden bout of curiosity, grabbed his coat from the clothes peg behind the door, put it on, and ran into the snow in his slippers.
The door swung shut behind him and disappeared, and suddenly the man was alone in a cold, dark land.
1. THE INUKI
The man shivered as the cold wind blew right through his coat and his bones. He slowly took a step forward. Then another. Then one more. He slowly began to walk, following the faint footsteps that were already being covered by the falling snow.
He slowly trudged through the snow, his feet rapidly going numb from the cold. He kept moving forward, as he slowly lost any sensation in his feet. His footsteps slowed, then he dropped to his knees and keeled over, unconscious.
When he awoke, he was in a small hut. He looked around, and found the walls and ceiling to be made of packed snow. He recalled the stories of eskimos he had heard as a child; perhaps they had found him and given him shelter?
He crawled out
