Serving Shae

They were in a luxurious conference room where only the business of state was supposed to be held. It was a beautiful room filled with a large, round table. The tabletop was black granite and held by a sturdy frame of rosewood. White sandstone busts of the former kings and queens of the Isle filled the shelves on the walls. What space wasn’t taken up by the busts was filled with books and maps. There were no windows. The only source of heat was a small fireplace. There was only one entrance, a heavy maple door that was guarded on the outside by a pair of soldiers. It was perfect for discussions of a private and delicate nature.

Instead of a discussion, at the moment two of the people in the room were engaged in a tight clinch. King Dakron’s was biting Ambassador Lysandre’s neck above the very high collar of her dress.
