Born in the UK and emigrated to Perth Australia with my husband and two daughters. I am a retired Author and Artist who was inspired to write children's stories when my first grand daughter was born. I wrote 30 stories and had been accepted by a publisher that unfortunately went bankrupt in 1995. My husband creates my book covers and has illustrated some of my children's stories. I self-published, finally putting them and my latest stories, for all age groups FREE to read online or download worldwide. I have written 54 FREE books for eBook outlets. This is my hobby and not for profit. I live in Western Australia.

A grey-haired lady sat staring out of the window. She was unsure of her surroundings; How long had she been sitting here? Where was she?

Looking down at her hands, she was holding a blanket, why, what was she doing?

A smile came to her dry lips as a short sweet memory flashed before her, of a young girl playing on a swing. She had fallen and ripped her pretty dress, a hand-me-down from her older sister Grace, but never the less, it made her feel very grown up.

Crying, she ran indoors to her mother, who automatically took a handkerchief out of her apron
