Introduction
In my books titled Understanding Divine Visitations and Understanding Spiritual Dimensions, I discussed in detail, several ways by which God constantly reaches out to his people most times.
Many have not been able to connect with God in the right spiritual realm, so they have kept missing out on the unlimited visitations of their creator. As it is written, how can two walk together except they agree?
Amos 3:3 (paraphrased), because some human attempts to connect to God are basically parallel lines that do not meet with divine intervention.
We all know that in life, if you do not have a clue about the person you are looking for, you are most likely to miss him or her even if they pass by you. So, when it comes to spiritual blessings and interaction with God, the preparation of your heart is of utmost importance. We also need to speak God’s language of faith, in order to align with His infinite power that makes all things possible in our lives.
Therefore in this book, we would be exploring the different ways whereby we can maximize our spiritual connection with God. We will also look at the several obstacles that have made many miss their day of visitation from God.
It is my prayer that you enter into your divine rest, so that every struggle (physical, spiritual, marital, academic, financial and other aspects) in your life ceases forever in Jesus’ name.
God bless you as you read on.
Chapter One
WHERE IS YOUR HEART?
The quality of your thoughts will always determine the quality of your life. The interesting thing is that only God and you know the kind of thoughts that constantly flow through your heart every moment of the day.
It is very important that we nurture and constantly maintain healthy, positive, creative and productive thoughts always as children of God. But my concern is that so many Christians do not even have a clue as to what this important matter is all about.
One of the ways whereby I get to laugh while driving with my friends is to ask them: ‘If God asks you to give Him your heart, what does he mean?’ You can immediately see their total ignorance when they place their hand on the left side of their chest.
It looks like an honest mistake, but that is a major concern in the world today. They think that the physical heart which pumps blood into the body is the heart God is asking for. There seems to be some confusion here, as what they think is entirely different from what God has said.
The reality is that you have no control over your physical heart, because the physical heart works involuntarily. Only God has power over your physical heart, so that is definitely not where ‘the heart’ God is referring to is located.
Another fact is that, your thoughts are not generated or channeled through your physical heart. We need to lay that confusion to rest once and for all, so that we can all get on the same page with God on the subject matter.
When the Bible speaks of the heart, what heart does God refer to? Let us examine the word ‘Lebab’ in the Hebrew tongue which is interpreted as the ‘Heart of man’ more closely to get our answer. In the first place that word has a broad definition. It is defined as ‘the mind, the will or the inner man’ in contrast with the outer man; it is ‘the comprehending mind which influences our emotions and other areas of our lives’.
So it is actually referring in clear terms to the mind of man, not the physical heart that pumps blood into the human body. In other words, let us call it our ‘mental heart’ because, it is the center of the decision making part of every human being. Your mind is also that part of you, that generates your thoughts and imaginations, which are vital to your relationship with God.
So, when God says ‘Keep your heart with all diligence" He means it is serious business; it is no joke at all. You cannot continue to allow your mind to wander carelessly and unguarded while walking with God.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; out for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23
Battles are fought and won in the mind. You could decide not
