- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Cherry Pickers by Hal Rogers is a good book for students to read to help them understand what a chrry picker is, how it works, what are the parts of a cherry picker, how to steer it and what jobs it is used for. The illustrations are done simply so that a child can see the parts clearly, On almost every page the illustator has placed a red arrow pointing to the object that is being described by the author,. There is also a caption for every picture that tells what is happening in each picture. On the page next to the picture the author starts each page with a question. This book has a Table of Contents, Glossary, Index, Books to go along with this section, and a Web Sites page to visit,.This is a good book for teachers and parents to read to young children, as well as a good tool to work on Informational skills. The Accelerated Reading level is 2.4.
