About this ebook

Sanctuary of Expression is a collection of heart and soul poetry by accomplished writer Jonathan Patrick Lamas. Spanning nearly five years of his life, Jonathan expresses, through intense emotion and vivid imagery, the many trials and tribulations he faced while struggling to achieve his dreams. From warm, sunny days in the mystical southwest, to the lonely, crowded streets of New York City, Sanctuary of Expression reveals the inner workings of a young man learning to come to terms with himself and the world around him. Works are of a spiritual nature, straight from the soul.

Sanctuary of Expression - Jonathan Patrick Lamas

    The Glimpse

Catch a glimpse if you will, of my wandering pondering soul

    Always in argument with itself

Like a married couple on the verge of papers served

    Lucy, I’m home from work

    Do you Wonder?

Do you wonder, in the still of the night

Of what is yet to come?

Do you wonder of tomorrow’s tale,

    Alone in silent thought?

    Moments passing, moments gone

    The future unfolding before you

Complex place, this life you live

Have you really lived at all?

    Gentle Dawn

Oh, how I Love, the soft gentle breeze, off the ocean,

    just before dawn

It cleanses my soul, and touches my heart,

like a love long since gone

There’s peace in this moment, peace like none other

One with the world and time

To feel the breeze against my face

To know that I am alive

    Hungry World

    Silent boy, silent man

    Lonely boy, hungry world

Waiting in the backdrop for easy prey

    Waiting around every corner

To pull you in, and change your place

To change your thoughts in time

No one says I’m sorry anymore

    It’s all about
