Ancient Civilizations in Haiku
By Fay N. Kozas

About this ebook
In haiku form, the author cleverly writes about the ancient world, and presents the Greek gods and heroes with candid humor, thus exposing their vulnerability and their "Achilles heel". She goes on to discuss the contributions of the various ancient civilizations and she enhances her writing with history and fact.
Fay N. Kozas
Fay Kozas was born in New York City of Greek immigrant parents and grew up in the Garment District in Manhattan where she was exposed to the city?s melting pot. She earned a Bachelor?s Degree from Hunter College and a Master?s Degree in English Literature from St. John?s University. She is currently teaching English and Greek in a New York City public high school and she became interested in ancient civilizations when she first taught a multi-cultural literature anthology to her freshman students. The author has published a book on Greek/Jewish haiku and has had several literary works, including Greek poems, published in various American and Greek newspapers. Her book A Greek Mosaic is based on her growing up in Manhattan, as well as on anecdotes from second-hand interviews and documentaries. She was instrumental in the construction of Athens Square Park, a recreation area that serves as a legacy to Hellenism.
