Here Is God When I Am Troubled - Merle Baro

    Chapter 1

    My Life

I will never forget what my mother told me, that when I was a baby, I was always sick but I grew up very healthy. I had four siblings: three sisters and one brother. As a child growing up, my father did not give me proper support. My mother could not see his verbal abuse. All four of his children’s lives were dysfunctional.

My mother always sang hymns and played her mouth organ to me. Those memories of love were strong and never left my heart as I grew up. When I was about eight years old, I would go to church by myself, with the request of my mother. I was searching in my heart because I felt troubled. I got saved in the church at eight years old.

My life experience never made me feel less. I knew I had good things on my mind. After I graduated from high school, I studied cosmetology and fashion tailoring. I always wanted to be a lawyer, but my father never gave me a chance. I opened several businesses, got married, and had five children. I did make a difference, and they all went through college.

My mother got sick and came to live with me. She lived with me for many years and then she died. My father also got sick. He asked me for help and I gave it. He came to live with me for many years until he died. Before he died, he repeatedly told me that he was sorry about the way he treated me. I never lived in the past. Always forgive yourself first. Think about the good things before you. Do not live in the past. Now, I am a very peaceful woman.

Chapter 2 You Can Talk with God

    Chapter 2

    You Can Talk With God

Have a little talk with Jesus. Father Jesus, thank you for this moment. How great thou art. Two thousand years ago a certain woman suffered with an issue of blood for twelve years, and she touched the hem of his garment and Jesus immediately knew that virtue had gone out of him and she was made whole (Mark 5:29). My Lord and my God, today, we cannot see you now to touch the hem of your garment. "Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed" (John 20:29). "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved" (Acts 16:31).

A woman was God’s first messenger after his resurrection. "Jesus saith unto her, ‘Touch me not for I am not yet ascended to my Father, but go to my brethren and say unto them I have ascended to my Father and your Father and my God and your God’" (John 20:17). With this reference, women should not feel afraid to speak God’s Word, but boldly share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As for me, that utterance may be given unto me that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 6:19).

Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

We must humble ourselves before God and love him. "God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24).

"The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind and to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Luke 4:18). You can be spiritually blind, poor, bruised by the devil, and brokenhearted. "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust" (2 Peter1:4).

God takes residence in us. We must live a life of joy, peace, and love.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1Corinthians 3:16).

If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7).

These things have I spoken unto you that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full (John15: 11).

As we are all children of God, He has given us dominion over all things (Genesis 1:8). Whatever you are going through, it is never too big for God to help you. We need to know who we are in Christ, and with this knowledge, we will harness our spiritual power to live life more abundantly. It is God’s desire for us to have love, forgiveness, and belief to overthrow the plans of the devil.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to
