It is a practical, Bible-based tool to help you discover what your purpose in life is. You will learn that all that we go through in life is to bring glory to God. God permits trials and testing in our lives. He uses trials and suffering for His own glory. The world is full of darkness and God is looking for yielded vessels to illuminate the earth with His glory.

The mystery of Gods power has been unfolded in believers as Christ in us, the hope of glory. This is the revelation of the eternal purpose of God. It is the good pleasure of God to reveal His son in our lives by His Spirit. As we behold the glory of the Lord, we will be transformed into the same image by the Spirit.

This book is a part of the manifestation of Gods glory. As you read these chapters, it will help you to understand how a loving God can take a test and turn it into a testimony, and suffering into glory. God will always lead us to triumph in Christ Jesus. He is the Eternal glory!

I wrote this book to convey the love of God, and to encourage others not to give up on their God-given dream. As you go through your seasons of adversity, know that it is for the glory of God. Arise! Shine! Be radiant with the glory of the Lord, for your light has come.

The Quest for Eternal Glory - Patricia B. Hall

    Introduction

    Preparing for the Glory

We are living in a time where it seems like darkness is all around us. I believe that God does His best work in times like this. God is looking for yielded vessels to illuminate the earth with His glory.

In the beginning when God created the heavens and earth, the earth was without form, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness (Genesis 1:1-4).

The very first divine command God used to begin the process of transforming the chaos is when He said,’ Let there be light’, and there was light. The Word of God is so powerful that it shattered the darkness. Well the same God who commands the light to shine is speaking in our hearts today.

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ(2 Corinthians 4:6). The light is connected with the glory of the Lord. God is looking for mature sons and daughters to beam forth His light in the earth. Paul says that we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

To be vessels of glory, we must go through a process. We will go through seasons of preparation that will transform and fashion us fit for the Master’s use. God will feed us bread of adversity to prepare and equip us for the glory. And though the Lord gives you The bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, But your eyes shall see your teachers (Isaiah 30:20).

As you go through your seasons of adversity and hardship know that it is for the glory of God.

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you(1 Peter 5:10).

When you go through trials and suffering believe in the promises of God. Have faith in God and His Word. He can turn your trials and suffering into glory. God will always lead you to triumph in Christ Jesus.

This book itself is a part of the manifestation of God’s glory. It will help you to understand how a loving God can take a test and turn it into a testimony, and your suffering into glory. We can glorify God through our work here on earth. I wrote this book to encourage others not to give up on their God given dream. Do not allow your present circumstances keep you from receiving what God has for you. All that you go through is to glorify God.

Arise! Shine! Be radiant with the glory of the Lord, for your light has come. The world is full of darkness and we are the only light they will see. God is looking for yielded vessels to reveal His glory in the earth. As we behold the glory of the Lord, we will be transformed into the image of God who is light.

    Part 1

    The Quest For

    Eternal Glory

    Chapter 1

Longing to See the Glory of God

Exodus 33:18(NASB) Then Moses said, I pray You, show me Your glory!"

At an early age I was eager to know more about who God is and what He is to me. I wanted to know more about the Man called Jesus. Because of my deep hunger to know God and Jesus, I would read my Bible every chance I got. At the age of 9 years old, my elder cousin would have me read to him every day. He would explain the meaning of the Scriptures to me as I read them. Little did I know then that God was preparing me for my calling to preach the gospel.

In August of 1966 my home church had a two week revival. The second week I repented and asked Jesus to come into my heart to live. I remember the mothers of the church formed a circle around me as I confessed my sins to God. For the first time I could feel the Holy Spirit moving on my heart. The presence of the Lord was all around me and I begin to thank and praise the Lord for coming into my life. Once you experience the presence of the Lord, you will never be the same. God’s glory represents His Presence and His power.

The next morning I was so excited about having Jesus living on the inside of me as my Lord and Savior. Everyday I would go into the woods to be alone with Jesus. I looked forward to spending time reading about Jesus knowing that He would show up. Every time I read the Word of God, the power of God would over shadow me. One day when the power of God fell on me; I begin to dance so hard, I was breaking every stick in my path. I can understand how David must have felt when He brought the ark back to the city of David.

Now it was told King David, saying, The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod" (2 Samuel 6:12, 14).

David was a man after God’s own heart. He wanted the people to experience the presence of God, so he went and brought back the ark to Jerusalem. The ark represents the presence of the Lord.

This was the beginning of my journey to know more about the glory of the Lord. Like Moses, my prayer was’ Lord, show me your glory’. Little did I know then that God had set me up to be set apart for His glory.

Even as a little girl I became extremely hungry for God and His presence. My childhood was very painful at times. I was raised by my grandmother along with six brothers and sisters. At an early age I was sexually abused by relatives which lead me to live a promiscuous lifestyle.

At the age of 14 I was pregnant with my daughter. It was considered being a disgrace if you got pregnant out of wedlock. I was living in a small community in the south where everybody knew who you were. My biological mother who lives in New York came down to take me to live with her until the baby was born. I felt ashamed, abandon, guilty and afraid. After the baby was born, my grandmother sent for me and the baby to come back home. She told me how much she really loved me and she didn’t care what the people thought. God does not want us to live in shame.

After returning back home, I continued my quest to know the Lord more. I immediately returned to my home church where I gave my life to Christ and was baptized. Once they found out I had a baby out of wedlock, I was put out of the church. Not only did I feel rejected by the church, I also felt that God had rejected me too.

I experienced nothing but great pain and confusion. In spite of my pain and disappointments, my pursuit to know more about God and His glory continued.

While working at a local hospital, I would spend time in every preacher’s room asking questions about the Lord. Then one day as I was talking to a minister about the Lord, he asked me What church do you attend? When I told him I was kicked out of the church due to having a baby out of wedlock, he was furious.

While in the pursuit of God, I discovered that He was in pursuit of me. God’s plan for my life was being established for the good. Jeremiah 29:11 says, ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope. (NASB)

What the devil meant for evil God made it good. This same preacher was elected as the new pastor for the church that put me out. He asked me to meet him at the next church conference meeting to repent and ask
