The Power Of Inspiring Leadership - PHIL SHAW
CONCLUSION:
INTRODUCTION
Leadership is the center of gravity in human history. It is the coordinating and motivating force without which nothing works that works. There is a need for true leaders in every field of endeavor and age to set the pace and blaze the trail.
Leaders are ordinary people who took responsibility to change conditions and challenge situation in their environment. There are few leaders in our world today. This is a glaring case of leadership vacuum. Most of what is happening across the globe, in our nations, communities, churches and organizations is traceable to leadership challenge. Why is there remarkable leadership void across the board? Where are our real leaders? What is blocking their entry into the arena where they belong? What is cutting short on their leadership performance? Absence of true leaders has led to the emergence of bogus leadership and chaotic situations. A lot of bad situations are engendered by bad leadership.
Not all who are leading their nation, church, organization and groups are leaders indeed. To be a leader is one thing, to become a leader is another thing. Leadership is very critical in every nation, organization or group. Everything rises and falls on leadership. The state of a nation or a family is the byproduct of the leader’s character. A leader is one that pioneers a course and co-ordinates activities. A true leader is made more by personal responsibility to service than by mere assignment to a task.
There is leadership vacuum and opportunities in our nation, our organizations, our churches and our families. Many leaders have failed across the board leaving behind them questions of character and incompetence. Many of those you have seen in recent times are pseudo-leaders.
There are more needs for true leaders now than ever. Many organizations have folded up due to failures of leadership. Some public leaders have failed owing to corruption. Communities have sunk in crises and families broken up because of incompetence of leadership.
Here is opportunity for you to lead. You can develop your latent leadership capacity and avoid the pith-falls to make the high marks. Interestingly the fundamental qualities required to lead a family is the same for a nation.
You begin to lead as soon as you can acknowledge a need and propose ways to attain some solution. True leadership begins with a deep sense of unalloyed desire to serve, service consciousness. That sense of responsibility is the secret wand that can thrust anyone into the limelight of leadership position.
Many have reached the conclusion that they don’t have what it takes to be a leader nor ever have a chance to be one. There are leadership opportunities everywhere and you can be the next leader. You may be unknown today, yet you may be the leader the world is looking for
