About this ebook

Many people, using conventional means, have not been able to reach their goals, and they do not know why. So they believe those who speak about the law of attraction. The truth, however, is that the law of attractions fails just as frequently as other methods do.

Scientists increasingly indicate that luck has far more to do with success and opportunity than hard work or/and other factors do. There are certain behaviours and methodologies that increase our luck. It seems that one can work as hard as one likes, do all the right things, and still the doors don't open.

This book explains why luck comes to some people, and how to climb on the bandwagon and increase one's luck.

This book has been shortened from the original to make it easier to read. Plus it's now free. I want to help. :)

Note: This book was originally published under the title ‘How to Increase Your Luck’. However I have rewritten it, and as it was originally written to explain that there was another reason why the law of attraction worked for some but not for others, I have gone with the title I originally meant it to have.

Chapter One: Why the Law of Attraction Works for Some

Imagine if you came face to face with someone who was drenched from foot to toe. There could be many reasons for that. He could have fallen into a river or a swimming pool. It might have been raining outside. He could have been dumped into the sea or fallen overboard. There are always so many different possible explanations for something happening.

Claiming the Law of Attraction is the Reason

There are many out there who do not know how to establish the cause – the real reasons something happened. This is particularly so for those who are already on their way to success and who have special abilities.

Those abilities might encompass an easy charm with people, coming from a fairly well-off family with good connections, being born with a talent or three, or simply being in the right place at the right time.

Self-help author often spoke on the same platform as those who advocated magical thinking – the law of attraction, etc. If I recall correctly, he said that it was his belief that he would be a best-selling author that got him there.

    The reality is different.

I’m going to quote from a book called Success Starts Today. Wayne Dyer, after completing his first book, Your Erroneous Zones, was refused publishing by many publishers, so he self-published it. He was persistent to be successful, and he bought his own books to spark activities around his writing until the populace and publishers recognized his talent and were willing to publish him subsequently. (Page 191 – Persistence)."

If I heard the story correctly, he bought out his entire first edition, and consequently got onto the New York Times Bestselling list, and, as a result, people bought his book.

This ingenious form of marketing had nothing to do with either positive thinking, magical thinking, the law of attraction, or the secret.

He didn’t become bestselling author because, in his mind, he could see himself as a bestselling author. He became a bestselling author because he wrote a good book, and then he marketed it in a way that would ensure future sales.

    There’s Another Explanation!

Without exception, if you look at the lives of all these people who claim that some form of magical thinking (the law of attraction, the secret, etc.) was responsible for their success, you will find that there were other factors involved.

Here are some examples of those factors.

They had a charming personality and were good public speakers.

They were conmen who learnt to play on what the public wanted to hear/have, and sold it to them.

They were extremely good looking and people gravitated towards them.

They had a lot of money and could use that money to form relevant connections that enabled them to forward their career.

The bottom line is that no magical thinking was involved. There is no law of attraction, and that is why some people can’t get the law of attraction
