About this ebook

Willie Lee was a diabetic black lady who lived in a nursing home which I visited regularly. Because of her illness, shed had to have one leg amputated. Whenever I came in to visit, she would turn down the TV and talk about the goodness of God. Willie Lee had an expression I had never heard before. It immediately snagged my heart. She would talk about the love of God and then finish with a graceful wave of her hand and the words, Darlin, its the beautiful truth! I loved the sound of those words.

There is so much peace and joy in Lynns writing. Its almost liquid right off the page. She wants us, the readers, to truly know His love, to rest in His work, to look forward to heaven, and so much more. Rev. Laurie Langley, Evangel Cathedral, South Carolina.

    The Beautiful Truth

W illie Lee was a diabetic black lady who lived in a nursing home which I visited regularly. Because of her illness, she’d had to have one leg amputated.

Her husband, Charles, was blind. He lay on her bed during the day, while she reclined in a kind of medical chaise longue. They listened to television together all through the day. But when I came to visit, Willie Lee would turn down the TV so we could talk about God and pray together.

Willie Lee had an expression I had never heard anywhere else. It immediately snagged my heart. One day she was talking enthusiastically about the goodness of God, and then finished with a graceful wave of her hand and the words, "Darlin’, it’s the beautiful truth!"

I loved the sound of those words.

    *

Willie Lee had 13 children. I was never there when any one of them visited. I can’t say they didn’t come. Only that I wasn’t there.

Yet Willie Lee never complained. Not in my presence, anyway. She seemed satisfied with her Jesus.

"Our Jesus, He love us all, all the time. He do. Darlin’—it’s the beautiful truth!" I can hear it now, in her low, smooth, patient voice. The words which first snagged my heart are now tenderly engraved upon it.

Thank you, Willie Lee, for the title to this book.

    A Prayer

D ear Lord…I am here. July 10, 2013. I am waiting to write your book. I should be writing. But I have no enthusiasm. Please give me a vision for this book. Please place it in my heart. I have waited too long to do your will and write it. Please help me. I don’t even want to write it. Please, Lord, give me enthusiasm enough to at least start. Thank you.

By nightfall I had typed eleven pages. Thank you for answered prayer, Father God!

    Blessed Assurance

H ow do you begin to know that Jesus really loves you? I mean with a deep, delighted, forever kind of love? A special love.

First, simply talk to him. Ask him to show you. Ask that ye may receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24

Ask him to put the absolute certainty—the blessed assurance of it—in your heart. He
