About this ebook

This book is a study of contrasts between visible things of Earth and invisible things of the kingdom of God. The Scriptures tell us, Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the worldthe lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of lifecomes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

I John 2:1517 NIV

The Bible also tells us, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Gods will ishis good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2 NIV.

Why not make a decision to Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things

Colossians 3:2 NIV.

As you study Gods Word, may you see more of those invisible, eternal things! But remember these words of Jesus, Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again!

John 3:3 NIV.

    DEDICATION

I dedicate this book to Dr. L. Dale Potratz, Dean of Christ Unlimited Bible Institute, located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. This school had an intensive twelve month program of classes every day & I graduated in 1977.

Dean Potratz inspired me! He made the Bible come alive! He sometimes dramatized an event from the Scriptures, in way that I will remember always. He taught that The Word of God does the Work of God

    The Incarnation

(How Jesus left the invisible Kingdom to come to earth)

    Christmas time is a celebration

Of Jesus, the Lord, & His Incarnation.

When Jesus was born that miraculous night

He entered this world of darkness as LIGHT.

A star blazed so brightly in the sky up above

As the Heavenly Father sent down His Gift of Love!

To remind us of that heavenly glow

We light Christmas candles on this earth below.

In window sill, Advent wreath or tree.

Quite a festive sight to see!

Tradition says candles can show the way

Mary & Joseph were to travel that day.

Every Christmas they light them still

And display in every window sill.

Some use a wreath & what do you think?

Three candles of purple & a candle of pink.

Purple to symbolize birth of a King,

Pink to symbolize joy He would bring.

Four weeks of Advent, time to prepare

As we ponder the birth of a baby so fair,

With all of the fullness of the Godhead in Him.

God became flesh to die for our sin.

Here’s a question from Scripture, for what it is worth.

When He returns will He find faith on earth?

He may not, unless we all tell

The wonderful story that we all know so well.

To the next generation we all must proclaim

That God’s Son left heaven & to earth He came!

    And Christmas is the celebration

    Of His wondrous incarnation.

Devotional Thoughts on Our Invisible Debt!

M ost people think of their financial debt as their obligations to various debtors. For example, the average twenty-one-year-old has five credit cards with an average debt of $3,000. In the U.S. there are over four credit cards in circulation for every man, woman and child, and over 40% of all U.S. families spend more each year than they earn. Americans are in financial debt. We can open our bills and see that kind of debt!

Many people are unaware that they even have spiritual debt or invisible debt. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

    In Return

How very great His love must be

To live & die for one like me

He lived His live a spotless lamb

To welcome me, "Just as I Am

He died upon a rugged cross

To save my soul from endless loss

Not my own, I was bought with a price

    My Lord, the Precious Sacrifice

From the grave He rose to live again

    Proof of victory over sin

These things my Lord has done for me

    I’ll live for Him eternally.

FORGIVENESS OF OUR DEBTS TO GOD REQUIRES A MEDIATOR, REDEEMER AND A RANSOM

A MEDIATOR: A mediator is the person who is the go-between or middleman between us and God, to bring about resolution. To effectively represent both God and man/humankind, the mediator had to be both God and man. Therefore, God became the Man Jesus Christ, who alone is the Mediator between people and God.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom… 1Timothy 2:5-6

A REDEEMER: A redeemer is the person who pays the ransom for the debtor. Throughout Scripture, God is spoken of as our Redeemer. Throughout church history, it has been continually accepted that Jesus is our Redeemer and has paid our debt to God.

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds." Titus 2:11-14.

A RANSOM PAYMENT: The ransom is the price that must be paid to God for our debt. When Jesus died on the cross, He was paying a debt He did not owe for those who owed a debt they could not pay. Because Jesus is both God and man, He alone is able to pay the price for our ransom through His sinless life and substitutionary death. This ransoming work of Jesus our Mediator and Redeemer means that we belong to God
