FOREWORD
26740.pngIt gives me immense pleasure in writing a foreword for Rendezvous with Life
, authored by Ms Nirmal Rathore. In our day to day life, one comes across numerous situations, yet our reaction to each event is different. The author has expressed her creative prowess by going beyond the routine and has inscribed meanings to each and every moment, which she saw and felt as a poet’s inner soul, and expressed in words which has given the right meaning and a subtle message to every reader of this book.
I am proud to see the author, who is married to an army officer, making creative use of the time at her disposal. I have gone through her profile and am genuinely amazed to see her versatility and hidden talents. She is an Artist with a flair for oil and water colour, besides being a national level shooter.
Her work in question gives an insight into various contemporary issues bothering our society and the country. She has touched upon generally each and every aspect of the society. From the Veil (The Purdha)
to Yes we Can
, she expresses her desire and life force in day to day life. Her satire Marionette or master of mobiles
on the new age development of mobile and internet technology, to the burden on our children to perform The 100 Percentile
aptly expresses the malady of our times. The patriotic fervor of the Army and NSG (National Security Guard) touched me. The book is an inspiration for one and all from house wife to a political leader, from a soldier to a child. The message is to work hard, be honest, aspire to be great and have respect for the women, country and self.

Rendezvous With Life
26848.pngNirmal Jija never ceases to amaze me (‘Jija’ is respectful word for an elder sister in Rajasthan).
A housewife handling the turbulences of an army life, parenting two adolescent boys, painting professio-
nally and successfully, a daughter in law, a sister, writing articles and in the midst of all, putting together a collection of poems, which are a reflection of her thoughts on the subjects that have touched heart or crossed her mind.
She writes on subjects common and diverse, earthy and urbane, many that we should have glanced through without batting an eyelid. But to hold your mind on them, to dwell and bring out various aspects of those subjects in the form of poems requires a creative mind, only a body that’s selfless, self-assured can devote such time and energy. I respect and admire this ability. This is what makes people like her, beyond ordinary.
Her poems are fun too; I found a phrase in 100 percentile
so aptly describing my state in student life. While you enjoy reading her poems, think of the possibilities you can achieve, Impossible is only in your mind, to quote from one of her poems:
"Mission possible—only possible with
