    CHAPTER ONE: ABOUT THE ELECTRIC PRESSURE COOKER

    The electric pressure cooker is a multi-cooker that performs the job of a rice cooker, yogurt maker, steamer, sauté/browning pan, warming pot, slow cooker, and pressure cooker. It’s a 7-in-1 appliance. The electric pressure cooker makes cooking faster and more convenient. By building up steam and increasing pressure, it can speed up long boils, simmers, and braises and get food ready within a short period. It uses up to 70% less energy and most importantly cooks nutritious healthy food in a convenient and consistent fashion. The different buttons and functions of an electric pressure cooker may appear intimidating, but you will soon become a pro as you grow in experience and knowledge with your cooker.

    The electric pressure cooker consists of an inner pot, temperature/pressure sensors, and the electric heating element. The heating process is powered by the built-in microprocessor according to the temperature sensors and readings of the pressure. The whole procedure creates closed loop control system, which enables the user to add all ingredients into the inner pot and set the cooking time for the kind of food to be cooked, while the cooker does the rest.
