I have a secret. It's one that caused me to move from my small, conservative middle-class hometown, to the big city. It's the sort of thing that I couldn't tell anyone about there, although my last girlfriend sort of figured it out on her own. She was the one who thought I should get away, to be yourself, she said.

I found a cheap place in a rough part of town because things are so much more expensive here and that's what I could afford. Worse, it was four flights up, with no elevator. It's good for the glutes, I told myself. The best part was that no one liked the stairs so they only came up if they actually lived up there. People left me alone, which was nice. And just a tad bit lonely.

It was there that I gathered my things. Clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup, and wigs. I didn't know who to talk to or to ask for advice, but I found plenty of videos and websites online to guide me.
