Before Darkness
Soft is the silence of the morning that has been.
Turning away the sin,
Taking a moment to allow one to find salvation.
A struggle with an immortal damnation,
Living with lies of the world.
Alone in the world, to bathe in the fumes of death.
Shamefully denouncing the truth,
Yet the end is not the end but a beginning.
THE BIRTH OF EVIL, ever present near us in all ages.
Listening and devouring the lies of the devil,
Turning inward to fill a gap that others had once filled.
Issues of all kinds swirl around our naked bodies.
Cold eyes, forgotten joy and emptiness is our new-found rot,
Our lives are like a fuse on dynamite.
Short and often explosive too us.
WE CAN CHOOSE TO FOLLOW the light or the darkness,
The pathway is a slimmer of gold in the pocket of a furnace.
Our words, our actions are the coin of the realm,
Influenced by the Messiah, that we call Christ.
Entering this world to be shamed and to die for the sinners,
Leaving us with a legacy to follow or to die for nothing.
We must choose before the darkness comes.
Weeping Under the Moonlight
Another day passes away into the night,
Chilly wind warps herself around him.
Staring off into the darkness, he weeps.
The tears flow like musical notes from his soul,
Feeling torn and worn down like an old dog.
He longs to be whole again.
