Chapter 1

Accidents. Events that happen by chance or unexpectedly. Accidents can be bad, like in the case of a car wreck. Or they can be good, like running into an old friend. Some of history’s greatest discoveries have happened by accident. I’ve had many unforeseen events happen in my life, both good and bad, but the greatest accident I’ve ever experienced was when I became an author; accidentally.

I’m not sure who’s most surprised that I became an author: my friends, my family or my high school English teachers! I definitely was not one of the top students in my graduating class at Mills High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. While I made decent grades, my focus on school was rarely 100%. There was seldom a report card sent home from Fuller Elementary that didn’t have a note attached to it saying, Brad is a good student, but he needs to stop daydreaming in class. Having a VERY active imagination turned out to be both a blessing and a curse. I’m certain my grades would have been better if I would have concentrated more, but life was a magical, fun experience in those daydreams!
