Kelvin Teo
Since young, Kelvin has always been fascinated with the unknown and when it comes to fiction, no other genre has intrigued him more than horror. He believes that everyone is innately curious about what lies on the other side, however hard they try to deny. For him, he chooses to embrace it by penning down his dark imaginations. He is heavily inspired by the subreddit NoSleep and authors like Stephen King, Koji Suzuki, Mark Z. Danielewski and Iain Rob Wright. By day, Kelvin is an internet marketer and when he is not writing, he tends to find himself indulging in video games, having a couple of beers with a few good friends and just lazing around the house in general.

PREFACE
I believe that everyone of us has an innate desire to know what’s beyond this realm.
The unknown has a funny way of instilling different feelings and emotions in us.
Some of us fear it.
Some shake it off.
A few, however, embrace the thought of it and express their darkest imaginations in words. They give birth to a whole new world of characters, plots, twists and events which are not so natural yet relatable.
Without these people, we wouldn’t have Freddy Krueger, Pennywise, Slenderman and all the creepy figures which keep us up at night.
I’ve loved reading horror since young.
But what really spurred me to put together a book of unsettling tales is more than just my love for this genre…
Lately, I’ve been unable to sleep very well — I feel like somebody is watching me all the time. When I close my eyes, there is an overwhelming sense of dread and a dark presence.
Some nights, I hear weird noises.
Other times, a cold breath of rancid air runs down my chest — as if something is just right above… staring down and ready to devour whatever semblance of sanity is left in me.
And when I do manage to sleep, I keep having these recurring dreams. Six dreams to be exact.
Tales which I can vividly recall even after waking up in the mornings. It is as if, they want to be brought to life and the only way for me to go back to feeling normal again, is if I pen them down and bring them into this world.
After Sunset: Six Scary Short Stories is the result.
Read with caution and in the unfortunate event that you experience a similar situation, do the same and write your stories to life — that is the only way the world will have no lack of good horror.

1. Dark Web
Good afternoon, Malcom.
Hi, Ms. Jackson.
Staring out from under my hood, I looked at the computer screen in front of me. Ms. Jackson is the head librarian and she likes to make the rounds and see how the library patrons are doing.
My backside is beginning to get sore from sitting on the hard chair for so long. I wish they would get some chairs with cushions, but I guess I could always buy a cushion of my own. Sitting in my usual spot, back in the far corner, away from the main traffic among the stacks, my fingers fly over the keyboard, slipping from website to website.
Coming to the library is the only refuge I get from the chaos that reigns at home. Mom's new boyfriend is a complete jackass and is always opening his mouth and criticizing me at every turn. He is also slightly abusive to my mom. There's no hitting or anything like that, but he isn't soft with his words toward her. I wish she would just kick his ass to the curb, but she just can't find the strength to not have a man in her life.
The library is quiet this afternoon. The staff has grown use to me and the free internet connection allows me to do my homework and surf the web at the same time.
One of the things I like about the library in this small town is they don't have a lot of money or know-how to create a really secure internet. I am able to go to websites I probably never would be able to in a larger, more modern and secure location.
I found I can even log into the web using a VPN, a private server that masks my activities and identity from any prying eyes. Not that I’m doing anything illegal, but I do like poking around in the dark web and that was one place I don't want anyone knowing about my involvement.
I stay far away from the drug websites, the human-trafficking sites and the murder-for-hire sites. I have no use for those kinds of sites. Though getting rid of my mother's
