Prompted Musings began as a writing exercise for a trio of authors, taking on a life of its own to become an adventure into the world of flash fiction. Prompted Musings serves as their experimental canvass, giving these three authors the opportunity to experiment with different voices, genres and forms. Working from writing prompts, and within the bounds of a limited word count, the authors have discovered hidden facets within themselves.
Although the writing of this book was light-hearted, the content spans a wide range of emotions and motivations. Within Prompted Musings are pieces of fiction concerning death, coercion and manipulation, while others focus on creativity, memories and imagination.

J.R. Bournville lives in Nottingham, England, surrounded by overflowing bookshelves and in the company of several pet rats. Books have been a lifetime passion for J.R., and when they are not writing they most enjoy curling up with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book. J.R.'s other interests include mythology, folklore, and photographing both landscapes and interesting architecture. The site banner photos are some of their favourites from a visit to the summit of Mount Snowdon on a beautiful October morning. Often indulging in daydreams, J.R. Bournville hopes to one day live a more rural life, either as part of a small community in the countryside or somewhere along the coast. One of many items on their bucket list is to try their hand at falconry.
