About this ebook
A factual examination of how Mormon doctrine and history demonstrate it's a counterfeit "Christian" church.
M.E. Brines
M.E. Brines spent the Cold War assembling atomic artillery shells and preparing to unleash the Apocalypse (and has a medal to prove it.) But when peace broke out, he turned his fevered, paranoid imagination to other pursuits. He spends his spare time scribbling another steampunk romance occult adventure novel, which despite certain rumors absolutely DOES NOT involve time-traveling Nazi vampires! A former member of the British Society for Psychical Research, he is a long-time student of the occult and a committed Christian who sees himself as a modern-day Professor Van Helsing equipping Believers for battle against the occult Principalities and Powers that rule a world in darkness. (Ephesians 6:12) The author of three dozen books, e-books, chapbooks and pamphlets on esoteric subjects such as alien abduction, alien hybrids, astrology, the Bible, biblical prophecy, Christian discipleship, conspiracies, esoteric Nazism, the Falun Gong, Knights Templar, magick, and UFOs, his work has also appeared in Challenge magazine, Weird Tales, The Outer Darkness, Tales of the Talisman, and Empirical magazine. *I'm often asked how I square my Christianity and "messing around" with the occult, as if I'm partial to bestial things with a goat under the amber light of the moon or something. No so. I'm a student, in the same way I used to study Soviet weapons and tactics back when I was a US Army officer. This gives my work a unique perspective no matter what your belief system. I don't judge. I just present the information and let the reader decide.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka Mormons) claim to be the one true church, the restoration of the original teachings of Christ and that every other Christian
church organization is apostate and fallen away
from the faith. We’re going to examine if this is true or not. All Bible quotations will be from the King James version accepted by both Mormons and most Christian churches.
Even though the official name of the Mormon church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for simplicity I’m going to refer to it as the Mormon Church or LDS. Even though Mormons consider themselves to be Christian, when I refer to standard
Christianity or Christian
churches in this document, I mean mainline churches such as Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Coptic, Methodist, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Quakers, and other such organizations that also claim to base their teachings on those of Christ in the Bible.
All these churches, along with Jews, share a set of core beliefs. They all believe that in the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth and around that time, humanity and a third of the angels rebelled against their Creator and went their own ways. They get this from reading Genesis chapters 1-3. Later in Genesis chapter three, our Creator God provides a short-term solution to restore our relationship with Him: animal sacrifices. He also promises an eventual savior, a Messiah to provide a permanent fix to the problem of our cosmic rebellion. The rest of the Old Testament records the necessary groundwork for the selection and education of a Chosen People to preserve those prophecies and from which the Messiah would come. Before the death of Christ on the cross, the souls of the dead went to Sheol, a holding place where they awaited judgment at the End of the World.
When Jesus came two thousand years ago, Judaism split over whether Jesus was that Messiah. The ones who believed he was became known as Christians. (Acts 11:26) While most Jews are still waiting for their Messiah, Christians see Christianity as the culmination of God’s Old Testament promises and prophecies.
The Gospel
According to standard Christianity, Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross made it possible for us to restore our original and intended relationship with our Creator. This is known as the
