About this ebook

Emma's fiancé promises a sweet Christmas getaway

With wedding plans underway, Emma's every wish is fulfilled.

Ring? Check.

Date set? Check. Doting fiancé? Check.

Sammy's devotion grows deeper as the wedding date approaches. Emma's thrilled by his attention to every detail. And then he outdoes himself by whisking her away for a romantic Christmas in the mountains. Just the two of them.

Or that's the plan.

What isn't part of the plan?

A rather large surprise. Not from Sammy. This one comes straight from Mother Nature…

Sammy's Christmas getaway comes with all the trimmings

A romantic location. A cozy cabin. Plenty of snow with a blizzard on the way.

He's no Romeo but he's got all the details squared away, especially the nights snuggling his sweetheart in front of a roaring fire.

Or that's the plan.

What isn't part of the plan?

How about an intruder who crashes into the cabin? And defending his girl with his bare hands against a dangerous predator.

A six hundred-pound, snarling, grizzly intruder…

Some Kinda Wonderful Christmas - Sara Nicks

    Chapter One

    Emma

The airport bustled with activity: voices, people, luggage. The smell of coffee was everywhere, and it was pleasant.

So much was going on around me. My stomach was in knots.

Oh, wow, I’ve never flown before, I said, looking around at my fellow passengers seated at the gate. I’m a little nervous.

Sammy squeezed my hand. No worries, baby. It’s gonna be okay. You’ll love having a bird’s eye view of the world.

I swallowed. You’re right. It will be a new experience. I’m okay. Just don’t leave me alone! I laughed.

Sammy probably knew how I felt without me saying, he was that intuitive, and we were that connected.

You never have to worry about that. I will never leave you, Emma, Sammy smiled. You’re stuck with me for life!

I looked lovingly at the ring on my finger, sparkling brightly in the sunshine beaming through the large windows at the airport gate. Things were going well for Sammy and me. We’d planned this Christmas holiday vacation for some time now, and I hoped it was going to be perfect.

That’s what I was shooting for: a magical holiday, the perfect Christmas.

Sammy had rented a cabin outside of Estes Park, and supposedly the cabin was deep in the mountains. We would rent a car in Denver and make the drive up. I was so excited!

I just had to get on the plane and get through this flight. Yowsa!

The plane’s take-off was both exhilarating and frightening, but Sammy gripped my hand tightly until we got into the air. He’d given me the window seat so I could see the landscape below. It was gorgeous! Especially as we were leaving Texas and crossing into Colorado. The mountains were like nothing I’d ever seen before.

The mountains were snow-covered and vast. I could hardly wait to land and start our adventure. It was pretty cool that Sammy had grown a bit of a stubbly beard recently, too. I was all about my scruffy, handsome, pseudo-mountain man, as I thought of him.

You ready? Sammy asked as we stood up to get off the plane.

Yep. Let me get my bag, and we can be off, I said, taking the hand Sammy offered. Let the adventure begin!
