About this ebook

Lacey is spending Christmas alone for the first time in her memory. Her, lesbian lover Susan, has gone away to visit a BOYFRIEND in California for the Holiday's. Their long term relationship seemingly crumbling. Lacey isn't taking it well.

The depressed Lacey decides to take a winter walk along a pond to take her mind off her misery. The bleakness of the cold winter day does little to help her affliction. But a tall gorgeous woman, in sweats stretching before a run snaps Lacey out of her funk.

The two women introduce themselves and uncharacteristically, Lacey pours her soul out to this beautiful stranger, Beatrice, as they walk around the dreary pond. There is an instant affinity between the two. They exchange phone numbers and addresses and promise to stay in touch after their walk is concluded.

Lacey's spirits are lifted by the encounter but fears that the meeting was just a one off and the two would never see each other again. The following morning, Beatrice is standing in Lacey's doorway, dressed in a long fur coat and beaming with Christmas cheer.

Following her shock of seeing Beatrice again, she invites her in out of the cold. It is then that Beatrice reveals another surprise to Lacey. Will it be enough to salvage the remainder of Lacey's holiday?

    Chapter One

Christmas Eve was quiet. It was not a quiet of delight and happiness. It was a quiet of emptiness and loneliness. When you're bi and have had your girlfriend around since college days, you know that the possibility exists that for one of you, or both, Mr. Right might someday come along. With things as they are, it could even be a Ms. Right who separates you.

That's fine when it's an abstract concept. It's something else entirely when it's Christmas and your best friend and lover is 1200 miles away with HIM! It's shit, that's what it is! You can rationalize the situation saying that it was inevitable and that if it did have to happen, at least it's with a nice guy who makes her happy.

Rationalizations though don't go very far when your sweet Holly has chosen to spend her first Christmas in years away from you and with someone else. Under the circumstances he may be Mr. Right to her, but for the moment, regardless of how nice a guy he might be, he's still just Charlie Dufus to you!

You can try and say that it has been becoming an increasing possibility. That job of hers that she loves so has done its part. It has taken her away from you emotionally and intellectually, not to mention physically for more days that it has permitted you to be together. It has been a wedge. Even when the two of you could be together, there was no longer the same spiritual oneness. Your lives, which for several years had been so closely intertwined that for days on end you might be apart for no longer than it takes to go to the bathroom, have taken divergent paths. And now HE is there to create another wedge between you.

Of course you and she had talked about
