About this ebook

"Beautiful is every fragment of this transcendence,

As it carefully mimes the reality of an imagination,

It's a scene unfolding on the surface,

nesting chaos within."

What's so great about love? Simple, it's a blissfully powerful emotion that rules our lives.

What's so great about being in love? It did funny things to me, and out came these beautifully framed poems.

Come share this magic with me. Magic of love, grind of a pain and the pleasure of reconnecting with oneself.

Born A Free Spirit is about a woman falling in love. A colorful world of butterflies turned into a tight knot in her stomach during a break-up, she picks herself up. Deciding to stay afloat, she journeys a path of self-acceptance and falls in love with nature.

This poetic journey is of a woman who believes that one cannot have a complete life if they just stay and go with the usual norms.

During the toughest of the times while battling within self and when being misunderstood by others, these words were of the strongest support, comfort and strength. Hopefully, they would help the reader find their inner strength, add another perspective to the emotions within, lead to self-understanding and live a better life.

This is a celebration of love, sorrow and nature – and everything in between.

"Making me wonder if the paper plane got lost in the storm of the noise.

Making me wonder if the dart hit the eye or missed to fall off the board.

Making me wonder if the paper boat couldn't adjust its sails to kiss the ocean well."

To that one person in my world who knew my harsh words meant nothing.

    I miss you, pappudi.

    My dad.

    ACKNOWLEGEMENTS

To all those, who very intricately, played their roles to the last detail of my misunderstandings, apprehensions and insecurities. Willingly or unwillingly, you inspired me in ways that only time held within itself. I will carry you in my heart and my mind to the best of my memory. You invoked emotions in me that left a lasting mark.

    I thank you.

    PREFACE

My intention behind this poetry book was never to create a book at all. These lines, along with me, are a witness to my love, pain, anguish and thus part of my journey. The purpose behind their birth was to comfort me, and grace me with the gift of their companionship during the tough times I have endured in the last few years.

These words were my support and exult a never lose hope attitude of mine. Having brought them into this world, my vision for these lines is that they touch every heart that is in love, has fallen out of love or simply trying to find itself back. Whether in silence or simply being a ‘be’, I hope these lines touch and help you when in need.

I share this with you, the reader, a fellow human being or simply a person sharing this beautiful mother earth, with the hope that you find your inner strength and your voice and use it to live a better life.

‘This too shall pass’ was the one motto I held on to when I felt low and ached with sadness. Sadness that I couldn’t explain coupled with the feeling of being misunderstood brought me down. These lines were my strength as I battled with myself within. I believe that they will add another perspective to your emotions and help spread the love in your life and celebrate Mother Nature.

The drawings in this book are my own. It was an honest and an amateur attempt from me in the hope to keep this experience humble and relatable.

I thank Microsoft OneNote and the online app ‘Journey’ for making this process simple and hassle free for a person who is not well-versed with computers.

    ~Sincerely, Harshita

    Season of Love

How could I not acknowledge the significant role played by my morning companion for the last few years? And so, a page dedicated to my coffee. When there was no one around or any who couldn't understand me or what I was going through, coffee came to my rescue. Those few moments spent in its hot, a cupful company cheered me up loads.

Every day is a brand-new day and so is every cup of coffee. So, enjoy it slowly, enjoy it with an open mind.

    I love my coffee.
