My mother always said, After two pegs, nothing can go right.
But I feel the world’s most interesting stories surface only after two pegs. So, here I bring to you my ‘after two pegs’ short story collection. The book includes stories in various genres from different people from across the world. The book does not encourage drinking alcohol in any way, though there is no denying the fact that every euphoria, high, dysphoria or unconsciousness of mind has brought us incredible events which at times have turned out to be life-changing. There was a black board outside my house that read: Diwakar Sharma, B.A., L.L.B. in white letters. The funny thing is my life completely justified that board; it was black and white.
I never said that I wanted to be a lawyer, believe me, never! But it was something that happened to me – just like my marriage. I never really said that I wished to get married, not even with the girl my parents chose for me, but it happened and it happened pretty early. After completing my BA from a nearby college, my father asked me to join his business. Not some steel pipe manufacturing industry, for we owned a hardware shop in Gadarwada, a small town in Madhya Pradesh, about three hours from Jabalpur. I thought sitting in the shop meant playing video games on my cell phone while selling screw drivers. But that did not work out too well so I decided to continue my studies. I moved back to where I had started my studies: Jabalpur. I did not plan the next step though. After a few days of vagabond trials at the tea stall near the station, I met a friend, who was friends with me for three days. He was a student of MA and stayed in the college hostel. The hostel looked good and seemed decent at just four hundred bucks a month. That sounded like a pretty good deal as I planned ahead. The
