About this ebook

Is it bad if you forget to comeback with breakfast for your girlfriend because an acid trip interrupted your morning?
Is it equally horrible if during that adventure, you witness all the best bands, your hippie parents raised you on and now got to experience for yourself? And after jumping over two people making love in the mud, am I a real Masshole for having my own tent orgy? Well??

I was a completely squared away kid on track.

Real people told my parents that.

But when the chance to see Metallica, Crosby Stills Nash, Chili Peppers, Green Day, and Nine Inch Nails, came around I was ready for a scene change.

Dozens of other bands including Cypress Hill, Blind Melon, Aerosmith, Johnny Cash, Spin Doctors, Bob Dylan, Allman brothers and many more would be joining forces for this legendary Woodstock II concert, I was going, end of story.

My square shape lost its corners and became a wheel.

My friend Keith scored us a four pack of tickets complete with a parking pass from the parking lot of now end.

Thank you Ticket Master and his Moms credit card.

My only problem was I thought was a serious relationship.

Samantha, a very classy girl from a very respectable family.

But there was another world outside of Massachusetts.

94HJY and 95.5 WBRU radio stations claimed August 13th and 14th would be 25 years to the days after the original Woodstock concert in Bethel, New York.

That sound like outside of Massachusetts to me.

Keeping it a secret, I bought Samantha and I two tickets and surprised her while we were hanging at her friend Amanda’s farmhouse up in Harvard Massachusetts where I would stay for the weekends and hang with all the neighboring kids who introduced me to taking Acid while listening to Grateful Dead.

Suburban kids introduced me to psychedelics.

Not kids from the city of Fall River where I am from.

Isn’t it Ironic? Alanis Morissette lyrics asked

They showed me a new way to look at life, and it me my prerequisites for getting away.

Samantha paid no mind to the orange tickets with the famous guitar neck and perched white bird that I paid $135.00 each.

I’m not going to that! She said. "I’m not sleeping outside. Are you kidding me?

My face shifted into an uncompleted rubik’s cube.

Silence pulled all eyes on me.

Why don’t you take Amanda since you like coming over here so much?"

Amanda our friend and very cool individual, gave me a look that asked permission with her eyes. My own reflected the opposite of no.

Sure, I’ll go Amanda quickly chirped in.

And just like that my relationship with Samantha was over, my parting prize came three weeks later, when Amanda and I dyed our hair Lagoon Blue, bought all the Acid, Mushrooms, and pot I could stuff into a backpack to fund our trip expenses.

Yes, from Spoiled Suburban kids, and not from kids from Fall River.

We all headed toward New York, piled in Keith’s girlfriend’s
