    Introduction

The power of words is phenomenal. Most of us are ignorant about how influential and impactful our words are. Words can sometimes cut a lot deeper than a sword. Whatever you say to someone else will make an impact on that person. This great volume, Your words have power use it wisely, is a powerful book from one of the best minds. It seeks to engender great transformation and inspiration that will cheer your spirit and completely awaken your sense of personal responsibility with respect to how to choose and use your words carefully. It is a bastion of very powerful messages that may very well change your world for the best.

Our day to day living involves the use of words to express our feelings and thoughts. However, we often forget that our words have creative power and we must place premium on choosing our words carefully. The bible says in Hebrews 11: 3 that, By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. That is how impactful words are. It’s creative.

The first chapter, The power of the tongue provides in-depth exposition on how the tongue can either enhance destinies or destroy it. Chapter two, The power of words, seeks to stress the importance of our words in framing our worlds. We as co-creators with God on Earth must change the way we speak and begin to speak like God speaks in order to enjoy our great blessings and inheritance in Christ Jesus. Chapter three is words emanate from the heart, which also seeks to throw light on the fact that words spring up from the heart. You need to guard the heart diligently because out of it flow the issues of life.

God’s word uncovers to a great extent the power of our tongue and words and how we ought to use it to profit us rather than tear down our lives with it. Words are the vehicles that convey our thoughts and emotions. We use words in prayer. In prayer words can influence the outcome of our prayers as Jesus said some pray repeating the same words thinking that they will be heard.

Let‘s be determined to unleash the power of words for positive change; to create, to inspire, influence, encourage, and motivate.

    Chapter 1

    The Power of the tongue

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21.

It is fact that modern day Christians face a major crisis which generally has to do with the misuse of the tongue. Even though it is an age-old phenomenon it has gained notoriety mainly because of contemporary developments in the field of Information technology (IT) especially social and mass media. James 3:3-5a says, Now if we put the bits into the horses’ mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well. Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires. So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things.

Proverbs 15:4 (NKJV) says, A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit. A wholesome tongue speaks with diligence whereas a perverse tongue utters negative life threatening words. We are supposed to have wholesome tongues. Even in your own life when you use an unwholesome tongue you create negative circumstances for yourself. In Job 6:24 it is written, Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred. There is the need to learn how to hold ones tongue especially when you are angry, during a quarrel or misunderstanding because you might say something that might inflict a wound in some ones heart.

King Solomon, the wisest man on earth in time past wrote in Proverbs 6:16; These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him … A false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren. Proverbs 6:19. It is written in James 3:5&6 that, Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among the members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell." Amazing the tongue is just a little organ in the mouth and yet it can cause grave consequences. The bible compares it to how a small fire can cause a conflagration just as
