About this ebook

Richard Coeur de Lion and Blondel is a poem by English novelist and poet Charlotte Brontë. It is a legend about King Richard I of England, who was abducted and held captive in a castle in Austria in 1192. The poem speaks of a faithful minstrel and a musical performer called Blondel. He traveled Europe, from one castle to another, singing only the first part of a song that he and the King had written together. The aim was to get to the King when he sang the next part of the song revealing his whereabouts.

Charlotte Brontë wrote the poem when she was just seventeen. She wrote beautifully about the King and his loyal minister at such a young age. It's a true gem by the talented writer. This classic poetry was taken from Charlotte Bronte's handwritten notes.
