Castros Bianchi rode over the railroad tracks out to his menagerie, reflecting on his good fortune. He’d been in transportation his whole life, and now enjoyed using a different pre-spacing conveyance every day. Today, he sat atop a quaint steel bicycle. He’d had quite a time getting it away from the Museum of Human Travel, but the combination of credits and friendly overtures had finally sufficed.

After starting as a valet on Trans-Vegan Spaceways, Castros had impressed, cajoled, manipulated, and sometimes strong-armed his way onto the board. Now he was semi-retired, enjoying his own private moon orbiting the violet gas giant Vega-7, which he privately called Purple Jesus. Few people these days got the joke, mainly those in his antique cocktail club.
