Cary stared at herself in the full length mirror hanging on the back of her bedroom closet, flatting her palm down her stomach in a vain attempt to quiet her jumping nerves. Why the hell was she so nervous? It was just a date. She’d been on those before. Okay, not a lot, but still. She had been out a few times with men. In public. On actual dates.

Why was she so nervous about going on a date with a man who’d claimed to be her mate two months ago? A man she’d already slept with and spent a considerable amount of time with.

Fine, so most of that time had involved chaos and mayhem and a few demons. And the possible end of the world. That was just life, right? Her life anyway. And he’d gone along with all that chaos and mayhem and helped her fight the demons.
