Healing is balancing energy. Ambika Wauters, author of The Book of Chakras, states, We are a complete energy system that unites all levels of being into an energetic totality. What we think and feel influences every cell in our body. It contracts or expands our energy field and stimulates our vitality and the amount of resilience we have at our disposal.
¹ All of the thoughts and feelings that we keep to ourselves or attempt to push away impact us. Emotions are energy in motion. Newton taught us that an object in motion tends to stay in motion--unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. In this sense, the motion that wants to stay in motion is emotion, and the unbalanced force is the mind telling us not to feel it for any myriad of reasons.
As we are growing up and experiencing life, we each develop ways of handling situations that become habitual and restrict the flow of energy. It is so natural and familiar that after time we don’t even realize what we’re doing. We lose awareness of our responses to certain stimuli or situations. Anodea Judith teaches us in Eastern Body Western Mind that Childhood traumas, cultural conditioning, limited belief systems, restrictive or exhausting habits, physical and emotional injuries, or even just lack of attention all contribute to chakra blockage.
² A chakra is an energy center in the body that spins evenly when balanced. A chakra blockage is equivalent to an energy blockage. Energy blockages lead to a variety of different imbalances within the body. Therefore, energy healing activates the body’s subtle energy systems to remove blocks, opening to the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Energetic distortions can be found almost everywhere in our society and in ourselves, and are maintained through our lack of consciousness. If we can begin to understand the contortion of energy and do the hard work to transform it back to its natural flow, we have a good chance of effecting real change in ourselves and in the world we live in.

Introduction
What exactly are the whispers of your heart? The whispers are those little love nudges you feel, sense or experience within your body. Sometimes it’s a nagging sense that there’s something more for you to do with your life. It might be the solution to a problem that just popped into your head. It can also be the nudge of inspiration to stay committed to what you are doing. The whispers could be any of these or none of these! Only you know how your heart whispers to you. One thing that is consistent with all whispers is exactly that--they are whispers. The nudges aren’t noisy, mean, derogatory, judgmental, self-deprecating or filled with fear. We all hear plenty from that committee! This book is intended to guide you into the exploration of what makes you respond the way you do through what inspires you and everything in between.
Fall in Love is written to inspire curiosity, open to reflection, and step into an honest knowing of who you are. The book doesn’t need to be read from cover to cover, but rather from a place of inspiration to read whatever random page you open to on any given day. There may be days where you take time to savor all aspects of the page, the quote, the musing, the reflection questions, and carry the mantra with you throughout your day. Some days may only be about catching the mantra. It may even be reading part of the page in the morning, being with it through the day, and returning to it in the evening. As you explore the reflection questions, remember to be gentle with yourself and give yourself the time and space you need. Create a comfy space, grab a cup of tea, and let curiosity guide you. Regardless of how you choose to use the book, trust that you are receiving whatever it is that you most need, even if some aspect irritates and chafes you and you don’t open the book again for days or weeks or months.
Each chapter concludes with a page for you to be with your thoughts, jotting down what pops in your head, doodling as your mind wanders or whatever else it most needs to be. Simply allow. There are no rules--only the whispers of your heart.
