    Chelsea was waiting as the test was being graded. Her leg was going up and down at a fast rate; she was grinding her hands together. Maria checked the last question and then braced herself for the reaction.

    One question wrong, Maria said.

    Chelsea bolted to her desk and said, That’s impossible.

    It’s ok Chelsea; it's still an A.

    Chelsea looked at her answer and the answer key to make sure. I was rushed. I didn’t have time to double check all my answers.

    You didn’t have to answer all fifty questions.

    Maria let her continue working even past the end of the exam time, so she could complete every question. For Chelsea, every question had to be answered it was a puzzle that had to be solved. She started reviewing the answer. The figures that showed her work took up two pages. The question was on fractal geometry. Maria couldn’t help her; it was beyond her understanding. She got an A in college Algebra, and that was her qualification to be the instructor, but the four students in the class were way beyond that especially Chelsea, who started doing college level math in seventh grade. She took the paper and walked out the door. Maria sighed she lost her and would be in her zone a bubble that was around her when working on a problem. There was nothing else in the entire world.

    Maria started gathering up the tests and personal items. It was the end of the term, time for summer break. This was a charter school for gifted students, and for a genius like Chelsea, a school
