    Introduction

Everything in God’s economy is Christ, and Christ is the universal replacement for everything and everyone else in God’s eyes! So when we come to the word of God we see that Christ is the Word of God!

And the Word of God is for us to grow in life unto the building up of the Body!

The Word of God is for the building up of the Body of Christ: we are regenerated, fed, transformed, nourished, and even glorified by the Word of God so that we may be useful materials for the building up of the Body of Christ! Also, the goal of the Word of God is to prepare and bring in the New Jerusalem, which is the goal of God’s eternal economy!

This is the Central Line in the Divine Revelation – Christ is the center, the Body of Christ is the line, and the New Jerusalem is the goal!

Today we particularly enjoyed that Christ is the Word of life – God in Himself is life, but He is mysterious. No one has ever seen God; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him (John 1:18). In Christ was life, and this life was the light of men (John 1:4).

Christ as the Word of God conveys the eternal life and is the divine person of Christ as an account, a definition, and an expression of all that God is. Christ as the only begotten Son of the Father was, is, and always will be in the bosom of the Father – this dear only begotten Son of the Father is continually in the Father’s bosom to declare the Father!

The more Christ the Son as the Word of God speaks, the more the Father is declared, expressed, defined, and explained! Christ came to us as the Word of life – and this is mysteriously conveyed and explained somehow by the apostle John in 1 John 1:1-7, and especially in the first two verses,

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life(and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us).

When you read the above portion you will see how mysterious it is that God, who is the divine life, came to earth to be a man – and the people saw Him, touched Him, beheld Him, talked to Him, and have seen something of the Word of life in Him… and this is what those who see now testify of! In the beginning was the Word-God and then at one point this Word became flesh – full of grace and reality!

If you want the divine life, it is contained and expressed in Christ as the word of life! The divine life was manifested in Christ as the Word of life – God was expressed in Him, and Christ spoke the word of life to men!

Christ is the Word of life, ready to declare the Father and all that God is to us when we open to receive Him! Yes, God became a man and Christ had a substantial human nature – the divine life was manifested and was reported to us by those who have seen Him

Now we can see the divine life and we can receive the divine life by opening to the Lord and receiving Him as the Spirit into our spirit! A simple turn to Him and a sincere call on His name, O Lord Jesus! – brings the divine life into us.

O Lord Jesus! We love You as the Word of life! You are the expression of the divine life of the Father! Lord, You are indeed the beloved Son in the bosom of the Father! You perfectly and wonderfully express all that God is in His divine life! Lord, we come to You as the Word of life to receive more life today! Thank You for becoming real to us as the Word of life – thank You for the divine life contained in the Word! We love You, Lord Jesus, living word of life!

Chapter 1: God uses Small Things

No matter how little your efforts are in anything, God will honor it in Jesus name. God uses small things to make it big.

    Zechariah 4:10 KJV

[10] For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord , which run to and fro through the whole earth.

Don't despise the day of your little beginning.

    1 Corinthians 1:27-29 KJV

[27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; [28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: [29] That no flesh should glory in his presence.

God uses small things, things that are insignificant, small efforts to please Him, your small act of faithfulness, that singular little act of love seed or love offering, goes a long way with God.

God used Moses´ rod or stick to defeat the armies of Egypt. He used David to destroy the Philistine giant, Goliath. Gideon and his three hundred men used pitchers and torches to slaughter the huge army of the Medianites. Rahab used a piece of red rope and it saved her entire family. A young boy brought few loaves and fishes to Jesus, who used them to feed thousands.

Never despise the small things because God uses small things to accomplish great things. You may think you are insignificant in the great plan of God, but you are not. You are tremendously important to God - so much that Jesus died for you, and the Holy Spirit lives in you. You may seem very small in your eyes and this is good, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. However don’t let your humility become sin by believing you can do nothing for God.

God can use you to help Him accomplish His will on this earth. God not only uses small things but He uses small acts that seem insignificant to us and to others. There is no deed of sacrifice or kindness that goes unnoticed by God. He can use these small deeds of Christian love to accomplish great things.

For example, what Mary of Bethany did for Jesus. She came into the room with a jar of expensive perfume and pour it on Jesus´ feet. When people in the house criticized this act, Jesus in defense made an amazing statement, ‘’wherever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world this also that she has done shall be spoken for a memorial of her", Mark 14: 9.

Don’t be disturbed when your names appear from the minutes of the Uniting Presbyterian Church, God is working with us, and He is using us to accomplish His great purposes. Men may despise small things but God encourages them. It is in small things that a person’s faithfulness is really seen. Many people would have no problem participating in a big event in public, but how many are willing to serve God and worship Him in a little place where nobody is watching? Think.

The Christian who can´t be trusted with the small things can never be trusted with the big things! Jesus tell us that if we are faithful in that which is least, we will be faithful in that which is greatest. To Him the least is the greatest because it leads to the greatest. I am not suggesting that things should stay small and I believe God doesn´t like it that way too. Faithfulness in the small things will lead to blessing in the big things.

David proved himself faithful in taking care of his father’s sheep, and God gave him the whole nation to shepherd. David trusted God in private as he killed a lion and a bear, so God let him kill the giant in public. (I SAM 17: 34-35 and verse 50-51). When the Israelites arrived in Canaan, the giants of Canaan didn’t just packed their things and leave. They had to be conquered. So, for us to worship in peace we have to fight and conquer the giants who are trying to block our way.

God uses small things to accomplish great purposes.

Since God uses the small things, never be influenced by the evaluations of men. As a man who like to read biographies, I am amazed to see how the most successful men and women were ridiculed and rejected when they started their work. Men have a way of despising what is small, so be careful not to follow the ideas of men, get your values from God. The important is that we do our work well so that it will be big in the eyes of God.

As those feeble Jews tried to rebuild their temple, their work looked pitifully small, but it was God´s work. They never knew that the temple they were building would one day see the very Son of God standing in its courts, healing the sick, forgiving sinners and teaching the multitudes. Surely, it is in the small things that God can work and bless, and the small things prepare for the bigger things.

In conclusion, No work is small if it’s the work of God. No gift is small if it is given in faith and love. No act of service is small if it is done to the glory of Christ. So, do not go around comparing yourself with others. Let God do the measuring and the weighing. He measures for eternity and that is what really counts.

    Chapter 2: I Am that I Am

Then Moses said to God, If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them? God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM’. And he said, Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ God also said to Moses, Say this to the people of Israel, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. (Exodus 3:13–15). People Who Know God’s Name Trust in Him.

The aim of my ministry is the advancement and joy of our faith to the glory of God (Philippians 1:20, 25). Preaching is one means to that end, and therefore when I ponder what to preach, I look for things that will stir you up to trust God with all your heart. Psalm 9:10 says that people who know God’s name will trust him. It seemed to me therefore that the Lord would strengthen our confidence in him for the future of our life together if I could help you know the name of God better. "Those who know your name put their trust in you."

    What a Name Signifies

The reason in knowing the names of God is that, it will help us trust him with our daily affairs and with our eternal destinies. In the Scripture, a person’s name often signifies his character or ability or mission — especially when the name is given by God. Adam names his wife Eve, because she is mother of all the living (Genesis 3:20).

God changes Abram’s name to Abraham to show that he had made him the father of many nations (Genesis 17:5). God changed Sarai’s name to Sarah (Genesis 17:15). He changed Jacob’s name to Israel (Genesis 32:28). And when the Son of God came into the world, his name was not left to chance: You shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

    When God Names People

The names God gives are sure indicators of the destiny of those he names. Now there is a big difference between me and God. When I name someone, I don’t have the power or the authority to xmake the person fit the name. I give names in the hope and prayer that my sons will become what their names imply. But
