About this ebook

It’ helps us to understand our basic nature, identity and existence of our real self i.e. ego ‘I’. We all are haunted by the eternal question ‘Who am I’. We want to know who really we are. From where we have come in this world and where will we go after death? What really we are? Who created us? What does He wants to achieve from us? What is our role? We all are in search to know our own-self (soul) and the Creator God. This book is an answer to our basic quest.

God has created us out of Himself thru His Maya. Maya has separated us from God and created ignorance to forget our identity. But we are part & parcel of God. We have lost our real identity due to Maya. This book is a practical guide to remove the curtains of Maya, so that we can know our self & merge back into Brahman. Then only we can really say that ‘I am Brahman’ or ‘So-ham’ or ‘Thou Art That I am’.

Book clarifies that God is not like a human being sitting alone on a thorn in the heaven. The whole universe is physical body of God on which He has a complete control. God is omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and Omni-watching too without any physical sense organ. You can also become That.

Lord Krishna giving Discourse to Arjuna

Nearly 5250 years ago, just before the Mahabharata War at Kurukshetra in India, the Lord Krishna bestowed His divine discourse of Bhagwad Gita to motivate and uplift the depressed Arjuna. This discourse is the best Scripture, which is outcome of the various spiritual questions asked by Arjuna and answered by the God Himself for the benefit of the whole humanity. The supreme writer Ved-Vyas wrote Srimad Bhagwad Gita and most of the other Hindu Scriptures after the Mahabharata war. The existence of the prehistoric Scriptures is an undisputed proof of the Avataras of God in human form.

Great Manifestation (Virat-Swaroopa) of Lord Krishna

It is an artist imprint of the great manifestation of God, shown by Lord Krishna to his dear disciple Arjuna about 5350 years ago in the battle field before Mahabharata war. This Manifestation has never been shown to anybody else before by the Lord. Srimad Bhagwad Gita is outcome of the dialogue between the Lord and Arjuna.

    Bhagwan Ved-Vyas

the great author of so many Scriptures

(About 5350 BC – he is still in body)

He was grandfather of both the Pandvas & Kaurvas in Mahabharata war. He was incarnation of Knowledge of God. He was omnipresent, omniscient (Trikal-Darsi) and has Omni-watching eyes. He is author of four Vedas, many Upanishad, 18 Puranas, Srimad Bhagwad Geeta and Srimad Bhagwatam. His work is incomparable, unique and beyond ordinary human mind. He is still alive in his body.

This book is a unique & rare masterpiece, which help us to understand our basic nature, identity and existence of our real self. Since time immemorial we are haunted by our greatest ignorance of God and self. Nothing can be more important to us than to know God and realize our original lost identity and own self.

The author explains scientifically and systematically that the whole universe/ creation are under great Illusion, Delusion & Maya. Whatever knowledge we gain through our finite mind and five senses is not an absolute truth, but a deceptive and false view as desired by God. Even the sciences are under the influence of Maya. Author has gone deeply into the subject ‘Who am I’ and has interestingly explained the ego ‘I’, Knowledge-Information, Ether, Black holes, Dark matter & Dark energies, Neutron stars and Galaxies etc.

The subtle subjects like Dreams, Deep sleep, Death and after Death, Consciousness, Mind and Astral body have been explained scientifically and systematically. Sri Mangla has explained various practical techniques of meditation for easier self-realization of our own self and to know ‘Who Am I’.

This book leads us from an insignificant human being to realize our basic identity that we are not only a drop in the Ocean of God but ‘Aham* Brahmasmi’ or ‘That I Am’ or ‘So-ham* or ‘Tatvam Asi’or we are the part of God. It is useful for all the ‘Soul Searchers’ and seekers of God.

*Aham means I. Aham Brahmasmi means I am the Brahman.

*So means That (God). Ham means I. So-ham means That is I am.

Human life is full of stress, strain and mental turmoil. Many of our diseases are due to our ignorance of the Self and God. We are now convinced of the yogic sciences in producing a harmony between body, mind, intellect and soul. Yogic knowledge has been playing an important role in our lives.

We are getting evidences that we possess many other bodies like Astral, Ethereal, Pranic (Aura) and Causal body. These are different from our physical body. We are now convinced that we are actually not the physical body, and there is existence of soul, which leaves our body at the time of our death. Our soul is not a physical matter.

I appreciate this unique book ‘Search for God & Self’ by Sh. Dharam Vir Mangla, in which the author has put his efforts to answer the most puzzling question from time immemorial. It focuses to know our basic identity, which has been lost and is of utmost concern of all men since time immemorial. Modern sciences have solved many mysteries, but have utterly failed to answer the question ‘Who am I’.

It is a rare masterpiece, which will help anybody to know his real self and the God.

At the age of 3 years he was the master of his regional language. At the age of 7 years he was master of Sanskrit and became a Sanyasi. At his time most of India was Buddhist. He re-converted most of Buddhist willingly to Hinduism again, without any violence, atrocities, coercesion & temptation. He left his adobe at an early age of 33 years.

    Lord Shiva

Lord Shiva is one of the Trinity of God. The Trinity of God is the first manifestation of Brahman, into three Adi-Devas. Lord Shiva is the destroyer of the Creation. You can well imagine, if there would have been no auto-destruction of dead bodies, what would have been there on the earth? He is the Lord of Yogis, While Krishna is the Lord of Yoga. There can’t be any Yoga without worshipping Lord Shiva & Lord Krishna. So, called yoga in the world is only asana & exercises in the name of Yoga.

Ch.:1 Maya keeps us away from Reality

    Prayer

O Divine Mother! Teach me to understand Thy great mystery of the spirit, mind, matter, energy and the wondrous universe around me. Since millennium and in my numerous past incarnations, I might have forgotten Thee, but I am sure, Thou art has never forgotten me even for an instant. Now I am in search of knowing Thy reality or my existence and nothing else. I am crying to find and meet Thou art since my first breath in Thy delusive universe. Father! Thy Maya has separated me from Thee and has created ignorance in me. I was busy with Thy enchanting creation and had forgotten Thee.

O Divine Father! Thy creation is already entrapped in Thy great Illusion, Delusion and Maya. Our limited senses, intelligence and mind do not perceive Thy absolute reality and Truth, but only glimpses of Thy great Dream-Drama projected through Thy Infinite Great Mind. O Creator of Lives! Help us to know Thy Drama and the greatest mystery, ‘Who am I’.

    Men’s Eternal Enquiry

    Om Poornam-Madaa, Poornam-Midam,

    Poornat-Poorna-Mudachiate;

    Poornasia, Poorna-Madaya,

    Poorna-Meva-Visisyiate.

    … Isho-Upnishada

Meaning: O, God! Thou art infinite and complete. Out of Thy infinite formless existence, the infinite creation (universe) has come out from Thee as Thou manifestation. Thou art (the left-after) still remains infinite. Nothing can be reduced from Thee and nothing can be added to Thee. Thou art complete.

This nature of God exactly tallies with Mathematics. Mathematically, this means if we subtract infinity from infinity it is still infinity and not less or zero i.e. (Infinity - infinity = Infinity). Conversely, if we add infinity to infinity it still remains infinity i.e. (Infinity + Infinity = Infinity) and not more than Infinity.

Since time immemorial the greatest puzzle of humanity has been to know our ego ‘I’, hidden and associated with our physical body. All the western philosophies, physical and biological sciences have utterly failed to answer this mystical eternal question. But on the other side all the Hindu Scriptures and the great Indian Rishis mainly concentrate to understand and to know our ego ‘I’ or our self.

What is this ‘I’ inside us? How to know this ‘I’? What is that in our body, which is called ‘I’? Is it a material or non-material thing? Who is the creator of this ‘I’? What happens to ego ‘I’ at the time and after our death? Do I exist after death? Where does
