Do wishes go stale?
I used one this afternoon and—
One. Yeah. Wishes are like quarters you find in the couch or something. Like picking up a penny and getting a lucky day. Right.
That lucky penny thing? Doesn’t work. I’ve tried like a thousand times by now. But last year I actually got lucky with the wish thing, and—
I better back up.
It’s like this. Last December Petey and I were out of school for Christmas break when finally, finally, Portland was going to see a little snow. Maybe where you live you get that blanket of white thing going all winter. But here in this part of Oregon, we’re lucky if we see three days of snow most years. And if it comes down while we’re in school, most times it’ll be gone before we get home.
Makes it more special though. And I grew up with it like this. Even more than Petey, who was born in Boston. Not that he remembers much of Boston, no matter what he
