    Dreams Really Do Come True

    Introduction

Hey guys, I’m Keana and I’m 14 years old. I go to a private middle school and I am currently in 8th grade, which is our last year before high school. I guess the worse part about the school is that we have to wear a school uniform. I guess it isn’t actually that bad, as it’s just a white shirt, a blue striped tie, a black sweater and black pants, so it does look nice, just wish we could express our individuality more. I’ll admit the school is a little strict and some rules are annoying. I currently live in Los Angeles, California with my mom and dad. Usually they get on really well, but these past couple of weeks, they’ve been arguing quite a lot these past few days. I really wish they would sort it out so we could go back to the happy family we were. I really hope they don’t split up, just because I wouldn’t be able to handle it, that would be the worst thing in the world. They’ve already been married for 15 years, a year later little me popped along on June 17th 1997. That completed our family and we were happy for a while. I really love music and it does drown out the shouting downstairs. Some nights I can go downstairs and mom’s there, looking like she has been crying. I ask if she’s okay and she lies and tells me she’s fine and dad also stays out late a lot. He can even leave on the evening and not turn up until the next morning. I also really hate it when he comes in late drunk… it really scares me and it mainly gets frustrating when I’m trying to do my homework for the night and I have them shouting downstairs. Anyway, I have to leave for school now. See you later

    Chapter 1

I was sat in English class, which is the last period of the day. I have my cell phone in my pocket, as always, when suddenly it starts vibrating. It goes on for a while, so I was guessing someone was calling me. The vibration finally stops and I feel relieved before it goes off again. Whoever this was, it was clearly important. I then looked up at the clock and saw that it was 2.35pm – which meant seven minutes before we got out of class – which would be good so then I could find out who was calling me. Finally they passed, and the bell went off, signaling the end of the day. My best friend, Angel and I left together, with hope that she could stay around mine for a couple of hours. I got my cell phone out my pocket to check the missed calls, realizing they were all from mom. I then clicked on her name before clicking the ‘call’ button.

    Hey, mom.

    "Now you
