        A  WORLD VIEW

           Predestined from the dawn of time

           and yet not mattering very long,

           the hopes, the dreams, the bustle,

           the clamor and the folly.

           For to the puppeteer the spectacle

           is all that matters, the ant-hill

           existing only so that ants

           may go on making spectacles

           of themselves, but otherwise

           not matter very long.

The big question now is no longer economic or

political or even socio-economic, but whether the

earth will still be habitable in a hundred years.

The earth comes rent-free, complete with running

water, central heating and air conditioning.

All the landlord asks in return is that

we keep the place clean.
