Prologue
This book is a true story based on the life of a woman who has battled Multiple Sclerosis for over thirty years. It is also about the fore-warnings she was given concerning her future with MS, and what would happen to her down the road. Did this insight come from God? Did it come from the universe or a higher power? She does not know. All she knows is that she benefited by paying attention to these premonitions.
CHAPTER 1
I was born and raised in Indiana. My mom and dad had three daughters. I was the middle child. My older sister and my little sister were both quiet, reserved children. Then there was me, loud and full of energy. My father called me wiggle butt because I could not sit still. He would sit on a chair and I would climb onto his lap. I would lay my head on his chest and snuggle close to him. Then without warning, I would suddenly raise my head and smack him on the chin. He ended up with two chipped teeth because of me.
My first experience with the unusual happened when I was two years old. My older sister and I were sitting on the floor. We were rolling a ball between our legs when all of a sudden I turned blue and fell backward onto the floor. Panicked, my mother rushed me to the hospital. Mom must have been doubly scared that day because years ago when she was a young girl, her little sister died at the age of two from meningitis. I was named after my mother's sister. She died when she was two, and I was two when this happened. Luckily I survived. The doctors had no idea why I turned blue and stopped breathing. Why did I survive? God must have had a reason for me to live and to return home to my family.
When I was 12, I fell down and sprained my right wrist. Being right handed, the sprain made it hard for me to write. My parents weren’t happy with me when I tried writing with my left hand. At first my writing was horrible, but eventually, it became readable. When my wrist was okay, I continued to alternate between my left hand and my right hand. My goal was to be ambidextrous.
Throughout my life, I switched hands regularly. I bowled right handed, but occasionally I would bowl with my left hand. I dealt cards left-handed, much to the teasing of my younger sister. When I would leap over a puddle, I would push off with my left leg. That’s something a right handed person usually wouldn’t do. They would use their right leg to push off.
When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, my right side became my weaker side. Even today my left side is stronger than my right. My left leg and my left arm are currently
