Aida, your book is like opening up a drawer that is overflowing with fun! Written in the glitter of friendship, it is filled with loads of laughter and tons of a kid’s smiles and grins! Confetti seems to fall on every page and I find myself wishing that every kid in the world has the pleasure of reading your book and smiling as brightly as you do.
I like where you imagine a future world where kids are kindly to each other and treated with respect by the world. I like the way in which you eavesdrop on your fears and hopes and the beautiful way you convey to your fellow kids to have and achieve fascinating goals! There is no doubt that this book is about a new kind of kid power and contains the secret formula for being a good friend and having fun! It is about giving kids respect!
Kids and grownups live with the everydayness of school and work, cellphones, texting, email, movies, the computer and TV. Every once in a blue moon something comes along that is magically different, so magically different that it stuns the world in a magnificent way. Such is the story of you, Junior Ranger Aida Frey, an ordinary girl from Chicago! The beautiful reality of your book is that it shows the world how to treat kids with respect. If they are treated with respect, then they will treat each other with respect! Aida your book shows this and so much more!
Aida, your admiration for America’s national parks is the basis of your book and is the new kid power of this nation; it is the new kid fun! But it is your friendships that spark the breaths of your magnificent travels. Through your travels your book teaches kids how to have fun and gives kids the secret formula for being a great friend. Aida, your book makes a kid feel good. The social support of family is apparent in your story as is the importance of having a good time with your family and friends. It also teaches kids how to appreciate the cool stuff in America and America’s history. The family dynamic that has been discovered in your story has the secret formula for changing the world and holds the secret of making kids feel important. Aida, your book is a growing learning stop for kids and adults.
When your family first came to me to write your book, they came to me with this delightful sense of warmth that made me feel as if I had known them! We didn’t really know how this book would turn out. We were pursuing so many lines of thinking, but I knew from the very beginning, Aida, that your book would no doubt be something special. Aida, you are a shining example of a breath of fresh air! You are the twirl in the rain and the shimmer around the trees. I am not one to stitch pretty words together when I write someone’s biography, but your pages break through the clouds with a story that just can’t be more beautiful. Aida, you have gallantly made your way through history and the national park world. Your book teaches kids how to have fun and how to be a great friend.
Aida, your book is an ambitious book full of personal adventure and travel. In your pages is your attempt to connect the dots of history and open up a path for kids all over the country to experience their personal triumphs and solve some mysteries of the world. I don’t know, Aida, but after writing your pages, I cannot help but feel your passion, curiosity and zeal are what hold the key to understanding civilization! Your friendship lessons give kids and adults a can-do-attitude that make us all feel like first place winners! You seem to have a knack for friendship that I have never seen before. Your values of the world are stunning. You are a master storyteller. I felt like I was there throughout your entire national park journey. More than anything Aida, you are likable. You are so very likable. I like your buddy nature and your dream that everyone in the world can be friends. I think that you hold the key for making this come true. If kids could have a leader you would be the choice! If you were a kid ambassador, you would bring every kid in the world happiness and they would live under ballooned skies and on confetti streets!
A special thank you to your parents Norma and Shawn Frey and of course to you my dear friend Aida! You have a keen grasp on how to make the world better. I love your travels and your discoveries! You are filled with some of the greatest stories I have ever heard. I admire your unlimited energy and how you use enthusiasm as your way to self-discovery. Sometimes I think you are so crammed with enthusiasm that you will pop like a brightly-colored giant balloon! You, my dear friend Aida, you send all the right moral messages out to the world in a book of totally cool stuff! You have a book that creates carefree days that are not easily forgotten.
Lastly, your book is such a powerful force. It is stirred by your enthusiasm and your life inside this book! You are filled with such excitement! Your spirit, alone, will change a kid’s life. It will bring a new sense of living and laughing to kids. I also like the way you and your family have brought back a vanishing way of life: car travel. I like your peanut butter sandwiches, sliced apples with peanut butter, your vampire teeth and your feet painting! You are an extensively illustrated account of good ol’ kid fun! I love it and I loved writing your book! Everyone who reads this book should value their silliness and learn to be unafraid and to take chances. I would be proud to download your book or have it on my shelf!
May your happiness and passion touch everyone who reads it and may the glow of your pages artfully paint your life in America’s national parks!
I am honored to be your biographer. I am honored to be your friend.
Dana Dorfman
DanaDorfman.jpgHello Everybody!
I am Junior Ranger Aida Frey. I want to welcome everyone to my book! It is about fun, friendship and how kids can be great friends to each other, to their parents, their families and to themselves. It is inspired by my love for America’s national parks, my cool stops along the way and the friendship I have found with my country. Friendship is magic. And so, my book begins in the magical heart of my amazing adventure. It is about my Two Hundred National Park Friendship Tour, amazing cool stuff and my amazing life as a kid!
My Two Hundred National Park Friendship Tour has introduced me to so many amazing experiences. I really feel as if I have broken out of the ordinary everyday stuff in life! I meet new people and see new sights. Of course sometimes I doze off in the backseat as we are driving to these fascinating places but it is all part of my life as a kid!
It is fun to go wildlife watching and nature exploring! It is amazing to visit caves and see things you don’t see every single day! Sometimes we visit places and just follow the cobblestones! I just love when we do that! I like just being so carefree and following the breadcrumbs of life! It makes me feel so alive! I love when my dad just does that! He will just follow a sign whose destination sounds fun and we just go there! I love not being on a schedule! It makes you feel so good and so free and that all you have on your schedule is fun and enjoyment! I believe that everyone needs this in their life! That is what vacationing is all about! This is what living is all about!
I never know what we are going to come across and it is so exciting! What is the energy across the other side of the road! What kind of story am I going to tell my friends when I get home! What will I learn that I don’t know! I am always coming across new things. America is filled with awesome stuff! There is a world to see in America! It is interesting to learn about different cultures and the way life was. I like seeing and learning about everything that was. It is a way to connect with past generations and to explore and discover cool stuff!
I think storytelling is really important in a kid’s life. It is fun to be able to tell your friends about your vacations, things you do and things you see in life. It is fascinating
