    Dedication

This book is for every young lady or woman who has loved, and lost it. That cried herself to sleep, and stood on the promise of the Lord that, joy cometh in the morning. For every broken wail from a belly reaching for help from someone that didn’t have the capability to give it to you in your time of need. For the woman that felt as though she has given too much of herself to the wrong people, and didn’t have anything left in return to give to the right ones that were being prepared to be sent by God. To the woman that fell by the wayside and has sunk deep in sin, that may feel trapped and worthless. For the young lady that has been blinded by society and fights to know God for herself despite what the world may think, and those around her are not clear of their salvation; please know that God is not done with any of you yet. He is a deliverer, a redeemer, and restorer, and a caregiver. Cling to Him. Follow Him. Trust Him.

    Acknowledgements

I want to thank my awesome man of God, my Husband, Michael Vines, for his love and support throughout our time together. You have always pushed me to dig deeper for what God has called me to be, and use my past and brokenness as a catalyst to march boldly into my purpose. Thank you for covering me in your love and prayers as you lead our family to the cross daily, honey.

To my Mother, Nancy Caine my Father, the late Erick Caver, and family of both sides: Thank you for raising and loving me, for coming to my rescue in times of trouble, and being by my side through good and bad. I can never repay any of you for your sacrifices and love through the years.

Special thanks to all my friends, sisters in Christ, and leadership that has poured into me, affirmed me, and given me godly counsel. Your prayers covered me and I’m forever grateful.

To my church family, Unity Christian Center, and Spiritual Parents, Bishop Sylvester and Lady April Mixon, thank you for loving me back to life! For covering me when I was at my lowest and allowing me to serve along with you guys. You are truly the best church on this side of Heaven.

To my publishers, who came in as a blessing from Heaven, Greater Works International, LLC!! Thank you guys for believing in my work and lending your expertise for what God has poured inside of me!

Most and foremost, I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ pulling me out of my comfort place and guided me directly into my purpose for this journey in life – Despite my past and failings you still had a place in the Kingdom for your Daughter.

    Forward

Brokenness can cause us to make horrible decisions. Brokenness can cause us to enter into unfruitful relationships. Brokenness can cause us to stay in toxic situations. Brokenness can cause depression, jealousy, anger, and bitterness. At some point in life, all of us will deal with tragic situations. At some point in life, all of us will be bent, bruised, or broken.  The key is to not stay there. The key is to get up and get out of that situation.

God never intended for us to stay broken.  Proverbs 17:22 states that A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: But a broken spirit dries the bones.  God wants us to be complete, whole, and with nothing missing.  God wants us to be whole spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically.

It is paramount that we stand on the word of God. It is important that we understand that we have the ability to choose how we will allow situations to affect us.  It is up to us to determine if we are going to allow BAD situations to leave us Broken and Devastated or Blessed and Devoted.  Many times, we feel that being broken is the way we have to live life.  Contrary to those thoughts, that is not the case. God does not want us to live broken lives. God does not want our spirit to be broken. God wants us to be blessed. God wants us to be healed. God wants us to be delivered. God wants us to be devoted to serving Him and helping others.

We cannot allow the enemy to abort our purpose. We cannot allow anyone to make us miscarry.  We cannot afford to be ashamed of our stories. We cannot afford to be ashamed of our past. We must give birth to the gifts and purpose that is inside of us.   God is depending on it, but most importantly there are others who need you. This is why, I am overjoyed, that Erica answered the call on her life. I’m happy that she did not allow anything or anyone to stop her from completing the vision that God gave her.

Be sure to read this book, Mending the Broken Spirit, and take notes. Allow the words to penetrate your spirit. Encourage someone else to purchase this book or share this book with them. God promises in Isaiah 61:3 that He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. God is willing and waiting to put us back together and to make us whole. The question is…do you want to be made whole? I declare, that it’s time to get healed and to be made whole.
