PREFACE
The subject of sex is one not so popular in the pulpit. Yet, Christians and nonbelievers both have sexual feelings. Feelings are human emotions or passions. There are different kinds of feelings. Some are positive while others are negative.
People often wonder why Christians should have sexual feelings, but it’s not abnormal.
Sexual feelings are awakened during the early teenage-hood. This is because of the hormonal and physical changes of puberty designed by God. These changes involve both the body and the mind. Because, as certain body organs start to develop, sexual feelings begin to surface.
It takes time for many people to understand who they are and who they're becoming. Part of that understanding includes a person's sexual feelings and attractions for the opposite sex. God created us with sexual feelings. He did not only create us as spiritual beings but also as sexual ones. We are spirit beings who have souls that are made up of:
1. The will or power to choose or decide.
2. The thoughts or faculty of reasoning.
3. The emotions or feelings of all sorts, including sexual ones.
We also live in a physical body, casing, or housing that has sexual organs. This book unfolds the subject of human sexuality in a practical and biblical way.
The first commandment of God to humanity at creation was a sexual one. When He said, Be fruitful and multiply
, it means to have sex, bear fruit, and increase in number. Fruitfulness and multiplication are not possible without sexual intercourse (Genesis 1:28). Through that commandment of God, it is clear that His purpose for humankind includes sex. We see that Adam and Eve could not increase in number until they had sex in Genesis 4, and gave birth to Cain and Abel.
However, we must not allow the enemy to use the same gift of sexuality to turn us against God. Sex must be kept within the sanctity of marriage, and marriage must be between a man and a woman under God and the Bible. Any attempt to take sex out of marriage or practice an unbiblical form of marriage will only birth trouble. It is like taking the fire out of the fireplace. God created marriage and sexuality. We cannot decide how they work without considering His original plan stated in the Bible. We are of God and have overcome the world for greater is He that's in us than he that's in the world (1John 4:4). Sin is in the world, but righteousness is in us and it is greater. Satan is in the world, but the Holy Spirit is in us, and He is greater! The law of sin and death works in the world, but the law of the Spirit of life in Christ works in us. And, it defies the law of sin and death! Shout freedom! We are free! Not to sin, but from it!
"What then? Shall we
